Are Telus phone #'s on the new 3g+ sims?

Does telus support 2g/gsm on their new 3g+ network? I want to pick up one of their motorola milestones, used off someone. But they setup their plan on the milestone. is the number stuck with the phone like CDMA, or is their number on the new 3g+ sim card? thanks

so it is possible to buy the phone off them, and all they need to do is keep their sim and find a 3g NAM phone? or does it also need to support CDMA? is it that their new 3g+ network is like wind mobile and they use the hsdpa to make class? thanks
