Custom Caller ID name

I was wondering how this is done. The other day my buddy called me with his new # and on my phone it showed up as "Joe Mamma". And he's not telling me how he did it... I'm sure some one here knows how?

Wait, so it has to be an iPhone app? Or can we just ask them to change it.

There's a blackberry app for this too. Though I asked the rogers rep on the phone to change mine to "Barack Obama" cause some of my friends rarely pick up their fucking home phones.

You can actually ask any representative for your service provider over the phone to change your caller ID name, no app necessary...
