i think the end of season 5 part 1 definitely did what the writers intended it to do, so many theories and possibilities... everyone is all over the place, too many what if's.

Marioo1991 09-04-2012 09:10 AM

Do you guys think it was Gale or Gretchen that signed the book?

Ronin 09-04-2012 09:19 AM

It was signed GB...or Gale Boetticher. Gretchen's last name is Schwartz.

InvisibleSoul 09-04-2012 09:26 AM

Yeah, there's some speculation as to whether the book was actually given to Walt by Gretchen, not Gale. Schwartz is "Black" in German. Seems like a little bit of a stretch, but we'll see.

It could be irony in that it's a coincidence, not carelessness, that finally leads Hank to suspect Walt.

G-spec 09-04-2012 09:48 AM

someone on last page said something about someone else giving Walt the book so that "should" explain everything to Hank....
but, fck if you been watching the show you should know that Hank is a pitbull, he gets a scent on something he will NOT let it go, even if it has a perfectly reasonable explanation to it

When Walt walked out of Jesse's house saying I left you something, and as Jesse was reaching for the black bags, it was obviously money in there, I knew Walt was there to give Jesse his money as soon as the mood turned mellow and they were reminiscing... but when he left and Jesse went outside and started reaching for the bags, I had to think twice and thought right then "holy shit Walt has gone beast mode lately, money? shieeeeeet... it's just as likely that those black bags contained Mike's remains in there"

Dexter is the only show I remember myself ever doubting the obvious, I gotta say some grand shit goin on right now for real

LikeASir 09-04-2012 12:46 PM

Wasn't there a picture of Walt in an orange jump suit with 3/4 piles of money behind him?

If i were to guess, i say he ends up in jail and runs the business from there while todd cooks it. And todd obviously needs Lydia's help to send the blue to Czech so he needs Walt and he just can't cut him off

Edit:

Nevermind, this was the picture i was thinking about

^that's kinda like lord of war

Maybe a lot of people close to him will die or get hurt because of the business he's in, so Walt decides, "Fuck it, my cancer's back. I'm going to avenge them and kill all these motherfuckers before I die." Hence the firepower we see in the trunk from the season 5 season premier.

The last episode had some of the best montages all series.

Matlock 09-06-2012 02:29 PM

Does anyone know where I can find more information on the "Grey Matter" theory in which Walt was previously dating Gretchen until he got Skylar pregnant and was forced to leave the company? I would like to see some sort of clarification/flashback before the series ends.

...and look what I found.

Nah, Probably a statistics student that was curious.

Interesting stuff though.

DanHibiki 09-06-2012 03:40 PM

since I couldn't fail the guy who did that (though I did downvote it on Reddit), I had to fail you for posting it. Sorry! :ilied:

twitchyzero 09-06-2012 08:15 PM

let's say that figure is somewhat accurate..let's round up to $30M over 3 months

that's pretty much 10x what he was making when Gus was on top?

Ronin 09-06-2012 09:07 PM

Gus originally offered Walt $3m for 3 months then ups it to $15m a year. That tells me $1m a month is a small percentage the overall pie.

So $30m over 3 months is totally doable if Walt is the head of the operation.

Bryan Cranston didn't win at emmy's this year...his performance in season 4 was so good though.

I am also surprised Aaron Paul won again...I think Giancarlo Esposito (plays Gus Fring) deserves it more
