I think you are in the minority that hold that opinion...but cool, I guess.

Personally:

Skyler's character annoyed the piss out of me and I really only liked her after she found out about everything, which occurred after that period.

Tuco was annoying as he was just annoying, but also he couldn't relate with Walt at all, but he was important as thats what pushed him to Gus, a character that could relate in Walt's world

Hank's character was also annoying at first(Marie too) but that's the brilliance of his character as he has had almost as large a character journey as Walt during the show going from cocky to broken in so many ways, and now realizing that to "win" he may have to lose.

I personally have found that each episode of season 5.2 has had a feeling of build-up where each episode of the series has paid off to bring you here. It's a snowball effect where you've been running down hill picking up individual experiences and speed, rolling ever faster, and now the speed is getting out of control.

It's going to break. Badly.

nah

show was definitely more fun and personal in the beginning (RV cooking, held hostage at Tuco's place, using science to defeat the foes, dark humour etc) but since the Half Measures episode is what really puts in its own league.

SkinnyPupp 08-20-2013 06:17 PM

It just seems that when he finally went "full bad" all the internal conflict was gone. The sneaking, lying, manipulation, etc. now he's just a cunt trying to save his ass. All the interesting interaction with Jesse is gone. The "close calls" are all gone. The cats out of the bag, and it's not as interesting to me any more.

Maybe it'll take a few more episodes to come around for me, but even the first half of the season didn't seem as interesting...

I guess I am in the minority, which is interesting in itself. Will continue he to discuss further if people are interested. Anything is better than idiotic one word responses and gifs at least ;)

DanHibiki 08-20-2013 06:23 PM

But we had close to 4 seasons of all that already. I dunno bout others but I was tired of seeing Walt make up lies after lies and see their entire family so in the dark about it. I'm sure everyone was thinking what it would be like when they find out and now we finally get to see that.

That's true. I guess I just don't like the direction they took once moving on from that. Maybe once Jesse gets out of his fugue state, he'll become the likeable character to root for.. Because right now, there are none.

And so you figure that's it, all that's left is a half dozen more episodes of the same old same old, and then everyone dies?

Give Vince a little more credit than that - I'm betting he has at least a couple more major WTF moments up his sleeve...

not to mention we would never have epic scenes/lines like 'Skyler where's the money?' 'I'm the one who knocks' and 'tread lightly'

Jesse had like maybe 3 lines these past 2 episodes but I'm sure shit's gonna hit the fan when he knows about Mike's murder and maybe even Brock's poison

spoon.ek9 08-20-2013 08:55 PM

i'm sure they're building up to something epic. this show never disappoints, i don't expect them to start now! as a rule of thumb, i generally wait for a season to finish before passing judgment. with this being the final season, expectations are high but i have faith they will deliver :accepted:

SkinnyPupp 08-20-2013 09:45 PM

I hope it's worth the payoff. I'm not here to argue I just felt like sharing my thoughts. With a few idiotic exceptions I got some pretty good responses, so thanks for that :) I actually feel better about the show now

I think WW has yet to go "full" bad....if he was, he wouldn't think twice about killing Hank. When Saul suggested "sending him to Belize", WW was totally shocked by the suggestion and had clearly not even considered it. He was insistant that Hank was "family" and that it was not even negotiable.

Will that change? Probably.

At this point in the season, I think WW is still trying to hang onto his "good" self.

jeedee 08-21-2013 10:11 AM

I'm still wondering what happened to the house in the first episode of Season 5 part 2 and why Walt bought the guns

TPMarko 08-21-2013 11:14 AM

might have something to do with lydia and todd's uncle. he might be a hunted man from both police and also gang bangers. we'll have to watch the upcoming 6 episodes to find out!

I'm sure he reacted that way because it was the first time the idea came up. But the more he'll think about it the more he'll justify that it's the right thing to do.

Yeah, I am thinking Todd does what WW did to Gus....which is why were are starting to see similar behaviour. I think the guns are for Todd and his crew.

DanHibiki 08-21-2013 11:07 PM

Imagine this happened instead during that episode lol
