Nope. I have updated to Anna FW this morning.
I can't seem to update Anna Update 1/2.
A lot of people had to reset their phone in order to properly update.
That's just wrong.

yeah update 1/2 2/2 had issues due to previous installs of QT Mobility

you dont need to reset your phone just download the latest QT Mobility and reinstall it and the updates will work




Also a deal made in the past with the former Nokia CEO is finally coming to fruition


Microsoft Office full functionality is coming to Symbian devices so powerpoint one note etc etc Cloud file storage/sharing services etc


here's a beta demo of these apps running on a Nokia E7 demoed at nokia world



it's expected that One Note/Powerpoint Broadcast/Document Connect/Lync etc will come in December 2011

and Word/Excel/Powerpoint will come before March 2012

Belle is getting released very soon

country variants are already appearing on Navifirm (releases always appear on Navifirm first and a week or less later Nokia will officially launch it)


So you can flash your N8 now if you haven't yet or wait for a lil bit and just download it through your phone

the official Belle update is going to be coming this first week of FEB or the beginning of the next (confirmed Feb 8 for SE Asia)


and as noted above Microsoft programs like Office, One Note etc is becoming available to Symbian

and today we saw the release of some of those apps for Belle devices

Yeah nokia was wanting to harmonize their os's (symbian, maemo/meego, s40) in terms of looks and to get similar functions available across the platforms （swipe）and to utilize QT to get the applictions cross platform

So belle is one of thesteps in getting this done Carla and Donna updates would have made them appear seemless

supposedly they've taken those office updates and other updates down until belle updates have been downloaded enough so as to keep the server load manageable

The Nokia N9 music App QuasarMX has been ported over to Symbian


Its still in beta stages (a bit laggy) but i highly recommend trying it out its refreshing and has more menus/organization/etc than the stock player although i like the stock player a lot

NOKIA N8 PureView what?


that's right, i didnt realize this at all but the N8 can work like the Nokia 808 does just far more limited


anyway if you set your camera to take 3mpx photos you can zoom in 2X in which case the camera will use the full 12mpx sensor

just like in video recording how you can zoom in 3x and then the camera will use the full 12mpx sensor (i knew about this for the video but not for stills)
