I'm beginning to feel like I'm talking to myself in here but i'll post anyway in case someone is silently following along ^^



HyperX (some of you may know him if you have the OmniaHD; he makes custom firmware/mods for phones) is developing a mod for the N8 and has already been able to get the N8 to take images in RAW format as well as Increase the Framerate of the 720p video recording, from 25fps to 30fps!

im hoping the aftermarket phone companies in vancouver will have it soon

why? just order it from the UK or America so you don't get screwed by the overhead

the only thing that sucks is the backorder issue....but they should get enough stock to cover their orders

As for Shopblt its because the phone still isn't available in North America its expected to be available in a week or two

what about warranty issues? how will we be able to buy extended warranty outside of the 1 year factory warranty?

I got free extended warranty with my N-95....i dont think they are really needed

For the price this phone is god damn amazing, I ended up getting a desire simply because I could not wait any longer and at the time I think they were saying 600$+ for the phone.

a lot of reviews are out saying this is the best camera phone Ever and the Telegraph in the UK love the phone as well
even our Financial Post are saying its a real winner

This video was filmed and edited using the N8 close up shots were used in conjunction with a magnifying glass (hence the background being out of focus) this isn't needed anymore if you apply HyperX's continuous auto focus hack





edit: new app out iSYNC lets you hook up ur phone to a Mac computer

Oh yea some Games (you can hook your n8 up to your tv with hdmi and play the games from your tv; also some of these games support the pinch to zoom function etc etc)

its going to cost you another $50 if you have it shipped to the border crossing (you can do that now) in WA sales tax

there are no Nokia Stores in the states anymore

there used to be 2 of them one in NY & Chicago but they're closed down now; strictly online

it would be cheaper if you had family in another state other than WA to save on Sales Tax

if you were in the UK you could buy the phone from the UK's version of Superstore for even less! (people dont get it they think Tesco, the store, is just bs'ing since they wont be in stock until the end of November or so)

shopblt is a very old company that supposedly/apparently deals more in corporate sales so their site looks crappy (just search for reviews in google)

I'm not going to order from the states though i want a Made In Finland one not a Made in China one (north america, asia gets the MIC ones)




I think i've posted some videos in here..

iOS is more pretty; better looking icons nice transitions for example the transition between Portrait and Landscape mode there's a little animation whereas with S^3 its just Pow Portrait Pow Landscape
if you want to compare the rest... S^3 is way ahead of iOS (true multitasking etc etc) and more open to Mods etc if you want to compare speeds there's videos of website load times (n8 wins) etc... there are Benchmark tests and the N8 wins more or less even with a slower cpu but a killer gpu

but for Iphone fans they can't get over learning to use a new OS and they're used to the Look of iOS over S^3

you have 3 options to choose from in the UK (these are all reputable and famous in the UK btw) They do not charge VAT (sales tax) for International Orders btw

the Nokia N8s in China are not made at Foxconn btw they're made specifically at Nokias own factory and they supply NA/Asia/Australia (unsure about South America) and parts of Africa

the Made in Finland ones are found in Europe the Middle-East and parts of Africa
