I'm ordering mine from Clove.co.uk or Handtec.co.uk Whichever gets the Blue N8 in first (although my itch to get an N8 asap is making me 2nd guess my colour choice and telling me to grab a black one now since its available)
For those that don't know Symbian allows user customization and quite a few iphone/android users harp about how they don't like the look of the N8s UI
Well here's an app just released that allows you to customize the UI and even add up to 5 Homescreens (rather than the 3 stock HS) does a lot more than that have a look thru

READ! PURCHASING AN N8 GIVES YOU FREE MUSIC (MP3) DOWNLOADS FROM OVI MUSIC UNLIMITED FOREVER!!!!!! BUT YOU HAVE TO BUY YOUR N8 FROM EUROPE THE N8s SOLD IN THE STATES DON'T OFFER OVI MUSIC
I don't know HOW Nokia could neglect advertising this
not a big deal if you download your music from ahem elsewhere but if you wanted to stay legal than SCORE
Nokia Music Edition phones usually cost more money than the non-music editions but the N8 includes Music
one more question before i order it. So they wont charge me tax at all? the price i see is the price i pay? No surprises when it arrives at my door? or will i have to pay Canadian tax on the phone as well

no no no you'll probably have to pay HST and 6% duties (however if you get them to mail it Royal Mail International you might not get charged taxes depends on your luck)
its just that they won't charge you UK Taxes (20%) some sites charge you the VAT anyhow
try not to choose FedEx as the option because you'll get charged insane Brokerage Fees (with clove.co.uk you'll have to checkout with paypal to be able to choose Royal Mail)

yes shopblt is in the US though so you won't get free unlimited music downloads and you won't get a Made in Finland unit and you're limited to the black grey or green unit
which is fine if none of those are a concern (but im looking for a blue one and a made in finland one)

clove only has the option for the Dark Grey one at the moment because they're not sure which colours will be coming in (they say they'll update their options when stock comes in; which should be Oct. 22-25)
and yeah the UK sites prices are in GBP (Pounds) if you can find a European online store the prices will be in EUR and be cheaper than the UK (but i havent been able to find em)

There are reports and picture evidence that some N8s are loosing their colouring (this is in regards to the black/dark grey N8s) as we know anodized alumminum products can have their colours warp or even fall off (bad batch of dye etc heat exposure chemical or gas or uv exposure)
It looks like IF there's a batch problem it's only an issue with the Dark Grey units (as those are the only one's we've seen/heard an issue with) it could be the Dye used to get that colour sucks or the sealing agent they used was applied incorrectly etc.
here's a separate video though to check out though
There are other user interfaces you can download from other companies but SPBs looks the coolest (i posted a video to SPB 3.7 above but this is the newest one in Beta stages)

Ok so it sounds like (not sure) but the unit that was losing colour is a very early prototype unit
as the person who has the problem says he's had the phone for over a month... but the phone wasnt released (at most) 2 weeks ago in certain parts of the world
Pre-ordered the dark grey from shopblt. Still debating whether to stick with this colour or the white/silver, but the silver has a huge back-order date.
Blue or orange would be sweet if it's available before the delivery date.

oh hai! Nokia N8 in my hands(torch camera really sucks..sorry, but it was busy...)
Overall, typical Symbian...its not as snappy as some of the other great phones, but to a well educated Symbian user, this phone will be great!
The nokia rep told me its Super AMOLED..but i hear its NOT...unless the NA version is...
the coolest thing would be... the ON THE GO thumbdrive adaptor. plug the small cable into the microUSB, plug your thumbDrive on the other end, BAM..INSTANT file transfer! makes access to files easy!

No its just AMOLED
but when you look at the screen comparos that are out (think i linked some too) the screen holds its own if not trumpings some samoleds
what sucks though is that it doesnt include Nokias CBD (clear black displays) which are gorgeous (supposedly they should be able to implement it but i guess not)
