IF ONLY it wasn't a vert.

ALEX1988 03-25-2010 12:49 PM

That's a nice e46, but he is asking too much for a 03'
especially with that interior color and it's a vert

BIG is the key

Leopold Stotch 03-25-2010 02:29 PM

wow am i the only one that prefers the vert over the coupe?

i'd love a m3 convertible. would have gotten one over my G if i hadn't been too much of a girl to man up to the costs

TRD Rs200 03-25-2010 04:00 PM

If I were to get a M3 I would totally prefer this one

hard top for the win man

toyota86 03-25-2010 05:00 PM

the prices for these cars have plunged quite a bit. its hard to get that much for one these days even if its mint. considering its now possible to get one from across the border for 10-15k for a e46 m3 and 5-10k for a e36 m3. also, a lot of enthusiasts are holding out for the ~95+ eurospec e36 m3 3.2 6spd which will legal to import soon. its really hard for the local e46 m3s to move. i predict that with the up coming hst, it would drive down the prices further. oh and a lot of car clubs that organize track days don't let verts play unless it has a cage or something. anyways, i'll continue my search for a, coupe, no sunroof, manual 6 spd, base + comp pack, blk/blk, half alcantara int e46 m3 stateside.

ya with $25g invested, you would think he'd AT LEAST get a set of Iforged/HRE rims or SOMETHING

lmao, real ballers are undercover ballers, they don't have to prove the fact that they're rich to other people. When I was checking out the car, the owners family had several other cars include a Bentley flying spur and a v8 vantage.

Mugen EvOlutioN 03-25-2010 05:14 PM

its not about showing off that i was referring to. IMO doesnt matter wat you drive, an aftermarket set of rims is a must. YOu want to look at stock cars? Go hit up a dealership, its about being different and unique.

Not everyone likes ricing out their cars

Mugen EvOlutioN 03-25-2010 05:24 PM

putting on a set of nice rims is called ricing out???

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Many people like the stock look but also like aftermarket performance. That's why they spend a huge amount of money on parts that actually work with eachother to improve the car's performance instead of buying a set of expensive rims and some cosmetic mods and call it a day.

Mugen EvOlutioN 03-25-2010 05:28 PM

so much for a car enthusiast forum, i guess everyone likes stock cars than

those who came to the meet must all be ricers

PS:

Getting a set of lighter wheel, forged rims is consider one of the performance mod, along with sticky tires

In some cases yes, forged rims, magnesium rims, carbon rims even a set of smaller than stock cast rims, can be classified as performance mods to a car because those actually weigh less than the OEM wheels. In the Euro scene, most people tend to go for stance rather than performance hence the oversized wheels with huge lips, which look very nice, but also increase the unsprung weight of the car, which hinders performance. And BTW the OEM 19's for e46 m3's are all forged.

i didnt say canadian tires nice...lol

jing 03-25-2010 05:38 PM

Is it performance if the car came with steelies but you throw on a set of MR7s

Z3guy 03-25-2010 05:44 PM

get off MugenEvolution back....nice rims is always the starting pt for modding a car....not only do wheels give a car a unique look and stance, they can improve the handling and acceleration (lightweight). Regardless, if you are a performance guy, I would run 4 rear OEM 19s and bigger tires at least......

although this CSL replica looks pretty good...are you nuts?...$30K for 52,000 miles and a US write off car.....

drunkrussian 03-25-2010 10:26 PM

lol mugen evolution wasn't saying anything about rice and on a car mod forum, it's kinda retarded to accuse him of being a ricer for saying the bmw should have some nice aftermarket rims

with that said, nothing wrong with stock with a car like an m3. Some people like to buy really expensive cars and keep them stock looking on the outside. That way it's not so much a unique car that's yours, but more of a stock collector car that you've kept in mint condition. Just my guess

wstce92 03-25-2010 10:47 PM

I was actually looking for a used e46 m3 coupe a while back.
One thing that caught me off guard was that I could not believe how many smg's there are out there.
I love that car in every color except for that puke yellowgreen one, so being as that all I wanted was black interior and manual, I expected to have my pick of used m3's, man was I wrong.
But yeh, like its been said before, if the m3 in the original post was a coupe and wasn't beige, I'm sure it'd be sold by now

Harvey Specter 03-25-2010 10:51 PM

I think the mods scary most people away from this car. It's risky buying a car especially a used M3 which is heavily modded. One thing goes wrong and you're fucked.

Zyzz 03-25-2010 10:57 PM

my yellow on yellow coupe is only worth ~20k nowadays... 80k deprectiation in 8 years

no one gives a shit about mods and people rather buy stock instead of modded ones especially euro cars...

also have fun with inspection II coming up

Z3guy 03-26-2010 06:29 AM

Allot of people buying used E46 M3s want a stock M3. Cosmetic mods or SC I think decrease the value of a M3. However well thought out mods will improve the value slightly...for example;
BBK, rear diff, Dinan parts, coilovers, suspension upgrades. I would predict you would get $0.20 on the dollar

However must have stock OEM parts as well.
