Can I claim tuition tax on continuing education classes?

I took a couple of courses with Vancouver School Board. Cooking class and an automechanic class. Together they were about $400 worth. However, these 2 courses do not contribute to my career nor did I receive a T2202A tax form from the school board. I did get an "official VSB receipt" and a note saying the receipt can be used for tax purposes if the course qualifies.

Post-secondary students will benefit from a non-refundable tax credit for textbooks. The amount on which the credit is based will be calculated as:
$65 for each month the student qualifies for the full-time education amount; and
$20 for each month the student qualifies for the part-time education amount.
Proof that textbooks have actually been purchased is not required.

hope that helps
