which deal is better?

My cousin is looking to buy this, I told him this deal http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/va...663946307.html is so much better than this deal http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/rc...661807614.html.

In fact the private sales got owned hard by the dealership offer. Am I right or have I misinformed my cousin. I dont want him spend extra money buying that car.

Could he use the dealership deal to bargain harder with the private sale guy? Maybe he can buy the used car at a better price?

It's hard to compare because you are missing at least one key number - residual value.

Your cousin isn't buying the car... it appears that he's taking on a lease. Just my opinion - always look beyond what the monthly payment is.

That said, room for negotiation from the private seller will be limited to how much money your cousin can negotiate off of the transfer (less than $6k, or maybe get the private seller to pick up lease transfer fees etc).
