Read it on gizmodo that it's real, looks pretty good imo. I'd buy one, I like the look better than the current 3G/3GS

I was reading on Engadget that Apple tends to issue prototype devices to groups of test users several months before release (in protective cases that conceal the final design of the device). Apparently Apple has done this with past iPhone models before release. This matches the story of this new iPhone being found in a bar several months before a rumored release date, and it was found inside an iPhone 3G case to conceal its external differences.

Or apple is using that spin department to start shit again

I seriously doubt apple would sanction a leak for a phone that was going to be announced a few months down the road anyway. Marketing and timing cost millions and apple would not leak just to stir up shit for the android market.

I think the 4.0 update for my 3gs will be good enough for me. I don't wanna keep up with all these updates. The only valuable I can see is the battery update and the front camera. But to each his own.

Why is it so surprising? They either purposely leak it for hype or it was leaked by one of the Project Managers or Engineers.

My cousin works as a PM for Nokia, he shows me prototypes all the time. I could've snapped some pics if I wanted.

I actually prefer the bar-like on this new one rather than the roundedness of the 3gs.

meh i'm sick and tired of my iphone~ just coz they are not unlock friendly/ or pay a fortune to get a factory unlocked one.. ~ i rather get a phone that is easily unlockable and not having to worry about updating killing the unlock that i can use anywhere in the world so i don't have to pay ROAMING coz i can't switch to a prepaid simcard... i hate the idea of having to worry about accidently updating the phone and not being able to use it ~

iirc the article said it was found in an apple BOX as well as the old style case. however, i would NEVER let one of these phones out of the factory. make the testers live at Apple lol.
