my n900 actually has swirling zoom and also zoom by vol keys. I found myself enjoy browsing internet a lot more than when I had my iPhone.

once u go amoled, u never go back :thumbsup: compared my nexus one with an x10 couple days ago and normal tft screens just don't cut it anymore. colours just looked washed out.

anyhow, ive been hearing alot about the cheap plastic used for the capacitive touch screen on the x10, which is causing alot of screen sensitivity problems. anyone have one here?

apparently there's a screen pro on the phone already..dnt know if its that or what..but ya sometimes takes a few taps to hit the button...i dont know if its a security feature or not..so that you dont hit the wrong button by mistake...

still trying to figure out how this thing operates..my gmail doesnt update by itself....

HUP is 199.99 with a 3yr contract and u get $50bux mail in rebate. you can do that at any rogers store and be eligible for the mw600 offer if u get it before 30th. the battery issue gets better if you deep cycle the battery a couple times and make sure you have a task killer to kill useless task that doesn't need to be running. and the phone does come with a screen pro on it but it's so shitty quality it makes the screen less responsive. and the rogers fw sux.. i've since put on a new sp and flashed with a generic fw it's so much faster and responsive now.

i am having some problems with the phone

first of all..i dont get sms notification of voicemails anymore...whats wrong?

second..name display doesnt work with this phone..

also my who-called feature is not working...someone called my # and got sent to voicemail right away..and i only got the voicemail notification and not the missed call notification...so i should be getting a who-called text message which i did not

anyone have any insight?

Those sound like network problems more than anything, but I dunno

are you using rogers or fido? i unlocked my using fido previously on rogers fw and i do not have any of the mention problem you are having. my voicemail works fine, sms works fine caller id all works including picture id. as for sms notification you'll only get a tiny notification on the top left.. or does it not show you have any msg period? try to give your phone a repair using seus and see how it goes. i mean if you still ain't getting it just bring it back and ask for a new phone.. but like what skinny said.. it might just be a network problem.. try it with another phone and see.

@ecsw i'm using the generic uk firmware rite now as i was told it has traditional chinese. which is true.. but doesn't have the writing pad for me to write the words out -_- the video play back on it is pretty good.. the only draw back is it doesn't support xvid. it does support wmv though. for the battery issue. just make sure you deep cycle the battery a couple of times and you'll notice a difference. and the generic uk firmware is a lot smoother than the rogers fw :)

do you mind point me where to find the uk firmware? But the phone with rogers fw should be able to view Chinese MP3 tag, right?

yes the phone itself supports chinese just no chinese inputs. you can get the uk firmware from esato's forum under se>android

How does this phone compare to the SE Satio?

the 2 phone is not really comparable.. one is running on s60 and the other is running on android so it's running on 2 seperate platform. the only thing i liked about my satio was the screen and the camera ~ other than that i didn't like it much ~ not a big fan of s60~ just go to a rogers store and try the x10 hands on urself and you'll notice the difference even using it for just a few mins

using fido...i get the voicemail icon thing the little one on the top left..just not the sms from rogers..
caller id works..but usually when i dnt have that # in my phonebook a name still pops like..for example "BMO" will show up when they call me...but it doesnt happen anymore this phone.

yea and i guess who-called doesnt work..i wonder if the rogers rep that changed my plan from bb to smartphone screwed up and left it out

btw..for those that want a better keyboard...try swype..i found it on another forum..works for all android phones..

what do u mean by just not the sms from rogers? have you tried it on another phone? coz i'm on fido too and all the features you say that is not working properly works fine for me. well i dunno about the voicemail coz i seldom have missed call ~ as for who called i think they changed the way on how it works ~ coz on my iphone it sends me sometimes and doesn't at other time.. same for the x10

tried to port over to rogers from fido to get this phone and no luck. fido reps recommend just buying the unlocked version and keep my fido plan and rogers rep says they will not do a single thing to convince me over lol...

oh well i guess i will just have to wait for X10a unlocked to be released and then wait for a decent price drop on them.

^ go to Rogers store and tell them you want to port the number over. u will just need to start with Rogers from beginning.
