Actually, you could. (If I remember my law correctly :p)

You are quite correct sir! Even if someone breaks into your house and slips and injures themselves the courts will award a settlement to the the thief. Think thats a lie? Look into it, it happens....

Funny story, man breaks into garage. Cant get out for 4 days while owners are on vacation. Sues the homeowner because he was stuck there for 4 days without food or water. Courts award large settlement.....

I thought so, I remember studying about those stupid cases. Thief breaks in, slips on floor because of leaky sink, sues owners.

anyone use this service yet?

i was wondering i need to do something for 1hour and about 20 mins.

do they charge in increments?

VR6GTI 04-12-2010 10:41 AM

People will be rushing around trying to get there shit done so they wont have to pay for extra time. That place will be a gong show. Cant wait for the idiot that thinks he can do it themselves in an hour and is stuck with a 3-4 hour bill

xpl0sive 04-13-2010 09:04 AM

well at 20/hr i would rather take my time and get it done right in 3 hrs than pay for 2 hrs and have to come back the next day and pay for another 2 hours and redo the job... i might go there check it out... do an oil change or something

will DEFINATELY head over there next time my buddy's DA needs an oil change. we were always keen on trying to learning ourselves, but the lack of jacks made it impossible

Princess auto or costco

Jack stands + jack should run you about $130 for a decent one

godwin 04-17-2010 11:20 PM

or CT's $40 jack + stand specials... get 2 sets for extra safety.

What happends when you are in the middle of a job and you realize that you got the wrong part and you can't get it for a day? Do you have to pay for the whole time you are waiting on the part? I would also like to know if they have any insurance.

godwin 04-19-2010 10:11 PM

Kinda weird that the Vendor doesn't introduce him/herself. Is it by this guy? http://www.revscene.net/forums/byot-....html?t=590731

"4-wheel alignments for U-FIX-IT customers-$50"

:eek2:

CorneringArtist 04-28-2010 12:46 PM

Holy crap the deals you guys are putting up keep getting better!

Are the alignments DIY as well, or would an on-site tech be dealing with that?

BTW, looking for any P/T shop help? PM me if you are please. Thank you.

So... Anyone been there yet?

that's a regular small shop price... not the KalTire rip off of the year

lexluthor09 04-28-2010 04:22 PM

lol @ kal tire comment.

if you're doing just front toe definitely a rip off, but if you're doing front and rear camber and toe and caster adjustments, thats definitely an hours work.

ive always felt they should charge base on time not a set price.

if only they'd listen to me.

I went this morning with another friend to change his lip from aftermarket to OEM... and change oil + tire rotation.

They helped us out, as it was our first time using a hoist, and helped us take off the super-tight oil filter on the VW TSI engine... great place!

They took some pictures of it, it'll probably get posted hehe! :haha:

U-FIX-IT Auto 04-28-2010 11:19 PM

We have a mechanical shop 1 block down. So we do alignments, wheel balancing, rotor/drum resurfacing. We also have ON-CAR brake lathe(thats 4 rotors that take 2h to take off). $50 alignment will do you all the adjustable angles(depending on a car), starting from rear camber to front toe.
If some people need to use Mitchell you are welcome to come by the shop before starting to work on your vehicle:)

ill give them credit on this one, ith more DIYers and Condos staring up here in the lowermainland, this is probably the perfect time to start a shop like this and I believe that if (and by if I mean hope) they survive their first year, then the cult following will start pretty quick, add a dyno, hondat and osirus tuning systems, and I feel you could keep busy pretty much all the time, put in a little bar for the "regulars" and it could be a 21st century version of a local hangout (aka malt shop) i'll definitely check this place out the next time I need to do some work on my car, I'm so getting tired of burning my hands on hot headers because my jackstands don't go up high enough

When I first saw this I was like "OMFG this is awesome!!"

Then I wondered "I hope they have tools and mechanics they can rent out for when I myself don't have the tools or expertise"

....

....

Then I was like "wait a minute...."

jerry022 05-02-2010 03:22 PM

this is a really cool idea finally someone think of place like this
