I am disappointed when the two good looking ones end up with a fail in VI, and the rest I checked out are junks that require a lot of work or claim to be STi, but actually it's just a WRX with a filter/exhaust. Ending up a friend's buddy sold me a stock Altezza for around $4600cdn in summer time, put 200km on it and now it belongs to my cousin lol. No plan on buying anything this year.

How was it? They're 3S-GE's in those right, the 200hp I4's?

It was probably cool back in 1999 when 210hp was considered as a sports car (only a bit quicker than the E36 I owned in Vancouver). If you have driven a STi and the newer Toyota V6, the BEAMS 3S-GE is weak. Website says 0-60mph is around 7.2s, so it's not that quick.

I wonder how does it compare with the V6 IS300.

yeah, a 2.0L 3S isn't going to feel all that fast in such a big car like the Altezza/IS300.

asianXL, i thought you had an SLK or something before?

Up to your spending preference... Personally I'd splurge a bit on the STI cause it'd be good to go.. whereas the WRX you'll always wanna be changing stuff..

yeah, after test drove all the lemons STi available, my spending preference has changed. I prefer a branch new Panerai than a beat up STi
