Nice and organized setup. How do you like the Briggs/Stratton pressure washer? I need to pick up one of those again, they are really well built.

It hasn't let me down, starts on the first pull for the most part. Quote:

It just likes to run out of gas at the worst times |

i was just using the riccardo yellow clay today with my friend, and my friend managed to scratch his car around the edges of his car contours. he used a generous amount of lube and everything, and only found scratches in those types of spots. any ideas?
i'll post my puny collection later

it was the same brand lubricant
so is it not safe to clay unless you plan to polish afterwards?

So it's really up to you, I haven't had any noticeable marring from Riccardo Blue/Yellow. Maybe you're clay was a bit to hard? I usually warm mine up in some warm water or microwave it a bit so it's elasticity is up a bit.

most clays will cause a little marring. I brought that up with Ken the other day and he told me to try the Bilt Hamber Claybar. It doesn't mar up the paint, although it is really only good for a car that is relatively been well kept.

As for clays, I have found that the only reason most clays will marr paint is when they are dirty and need to be replaced, if inadequate amounts of lube are used or if the paint is very soft like on Range Rovers. Clay Magic Blue, Blackfire Poly Clay II and Bilt Hamber Soft clay work better than just about any other clay without marring the surface if the bar is new and the surface is clean. Most other clays I found will work, but require substantially more effort to get the job done.

The Clay Magic Red and Bilt Hamber Regular will marr paint as they are aggressive. Its the other brands such as Riccardo, Meguiars, Sonus and such that are pretty much useless on anything other than a well maintained car. My apologies for the confusion. |

Nice collection Brendan! This reminds me to consolidate all my product and gear together. Right now, I've got some stuff in storage, some in the garage and some in the laundry.
Feather duster reminds me of the duster my mom used to beat me with as a kid...
As others have said, clay will mar. I think it takes a few tries to get used to it. This is the result of my first attempt at claying (I used a QD as lubricant for it but I think I may have pressed a little too hard and went over the same spot a bunch of times) |

My mistake. I like the Claymagic blue, but even with proper lubrication, it can be a tad rough. I was pushing hard on some spots with the Bilt Hamber and it was doing just fine. Sorry for the confusion as well |
