calling cops on people celling/driving

Is it possible to call the cops and report people talking on cell phones when they are driving?

I was driving today and saw so many people talking and driving. Pissed me off so much that they don't understand the laws. Not to compare the two but this and people who disregard HOV lanes.

Anyone know if there's a special number you can call? I would have called on everyone today so many abusers.

i wonder how this thread will turn out

this law is sorta silly, not even cops abide by it.

LiquidTurbo 04-11-2010 04:52 PM

It's pointless. They could claim that you have no proof.

And what are you going to do, whip out a camera and take a picture? You can't, because it'de be operating an unsecured electronic device!

JiggaZed 04-11-2010 04:53 PM

LMFAO, what a tool...

The_AK 04-11-2010 04:54 PM

You should totally call them out. Be a hero since this might be your only opportunity to do so. If you see anyone breaking the law, ever, report them.

fishing666 04-11-2010 05:17 PM

the purpose of the cell phone law is to put the user at fault when an accident occurs

lol because emergency services are exempt from that law:thumbsup:

twitchyzero 04-11-2010 05:20 PM

it annoys me too
but it's laws like this, idling, not yielding to the bus will not result in a traffic violation ticket
at least we don't seen anymore texting drivers

Are there actually people calling me a retard because I want to do the right thing? Give your heads a shake. Its called a law for a reason, so obey them. Ever wonder what anarchy would be like? well lets hope we don't find out.

XtC-604 04-11-2010 05:35 PM

About people not texting...its not true. I still text, just my phone is out of sight. At the bottom of my steering wheel. And don't be such a tool. What we need is to stop women from doing make up while driving.

So your telling me you obey the law for everything? must be a hippie or something....

Isn't speeding breaking the law which you can get a ticket for? If I can I'll do 120-150 on average on the highway, speed limit is like 90... shit I must be a bad driver and should be given a ticket!

The only reason this law exists in the first place is because bad drivers who concentrate so much on their conversation that they lose focus what's going on around them on the road... and ppl who text while driving...

So I'll continue to talk on my cell and drive above the speed limit when I have the chance to because I'm not a noob like you.

AND YOU CAN'T STOP ME BRO.

I hope when your on the phone and driving there is a cop behind you. You dont seem to respect the law and the safety for others so I'll be the first one to volunteer for jury duty just to make sure you get life in prison.
Your a perfect example with whats wrong with the world today.

All I asked is if there's simply a number I can phone to report these people violating the Canadian laws.

I know people who are dead because of drunk drivers so fuck off for being passionate about this issue

Suprarz666 04-11-2010 06:05 PM

Might as well start reporting everyone thats exceeding the speed limit amIrite

LOL!!!!!!!!! IF THERE WAS A COP BEHIND ME I'D GET OFF MY PHONE... common fucking sense... I'm aware of my surroundings.

Just becuase I talk on my phone and don't drive in the left lane like a slow pussy doesn't mean I affect the safety of other peoples lives...

Open your fucking eyes! that's not going to happen, becuase like I said I'm not a noob...

Hey, there's this crazy thing called a phone book. It even has the non-emergency police number for your area in it.

Sounds like a pretty big waste of time for yourself as well as for everyone on the other end of the phone.
