What's funny is I have pretty bad form with my forehand... extremely short preparation and backswing... but I'm pretty athletic, so I make it work... but now that I dedicated myself to practicing my backhand, apparently I actually have pretty good proper form for it.

While I would say my forehand is still more dependable than my backhand in a game situation, my backhand technique probably looks way better.

I think if I continue working on it, my backhand might end up being better than my forehand... no joke. When I was practicing against the wall, my backhand was way more controlled and consistent than my forehand!

I'm going to have some time this coming week... probably good to play anytime Saturday, Sunday afternoon before the Canucks game, and Monday night from 6:30pm until dark.

Tonight is the only night where I could possibly play until Saturday, so I'm going to try and get out to Gladstone after work... but not sure if I am yet.

i buy 10packs of strings from tenniswarehouse and get tad's to string for $10 labor by providing my own strings. overall, you'll save about $100 or more depending on the strings you get.

btw, a ohbh is a lot easier to learn for men because it is a natural swing motion, just like the forehand. however, it also requires more strength, and this is where women like to use the 2hbh. if you look at the pro women tour, almost all of them use 2hbh except henin.

i have solid form for both bh and fh, and the only thing keeping me down is my fitness level because i study too much. we should have an rs king of the court day. we'll see who's #1 =)

Haha, my buddy and I didnt have the greatest of luck yesterday. We walked over to the high school courts and not even 15min it it started pouring, even some hail started to fall. We tried just volleying so the balls wouldnt get too messed up but the rain was too much to we had to run home =/

Hey... so who wants to do this?

I'm thinking early Sunday afternoon... like around 1pm. Gives plenty of time to play and get back in time before the Canucks game at 5pm. Weather forecast is looking very promising.

I'd prefer to play in my own backyard at Gladstone... but I could travel a little ways if it's better for others.

I'll play with you at gladstone later in the week. You can help me train for my tournament or just even rally to get into the groove. You're probably better if you can play at the 4.0 - 4.5 level. This sunday is mother's day so I can't.

I actually don't have a shortage of people to play with... but I thought I'd expand my horizons a bit and finally hit with someone from RS after so many years.

same here. i have friends that i play with all the time. some are really good 5.0+ provincial players and some are 4.0-4.5 who are still really good. i'm just kinda curious at how you would rate yourself as 4.0-4.5 when you only learned a backhand a year ago. it's definitely good to play against someone different to get out of that comfort zone when you know how your friends play. if you're up for tennis at gladstone monday, let me know. i'll hit some with you.

Realistically, probably no more than 4.0 unless I'm having a really good day.

I'm most likely going to go to Gladstone tomorrow night at about 6:30pm... was going to play with some of the regulars that go there, but if you wanted to come down, we can hit some. I'm 5'4" but somewhat stocky and I play with a Babolat Pure Drive Roddick and carry a Babolat six-pack bag.
