| first 2010 Revscene Pet Meet
***UPDATE ***
Date : Sunday May 23rd.
Time : 11am meet up.
Place : Brookswood Dog Park - 204 St. near 44th Ave
(this is a fully fenced off leash park, it has a large walking gravel path around and also paths outside the park)
We will meet in the parking lot.
If it decides to pour I will post a new date up. The weather has been looking good though.
If I am unable to attend due to the baby deciding to come then I will post that I am unable to attend.
************************************************** ******************************************
Now that the weather has been a little better it would be good to get a Revscene dog meet under way. Are Saturdays or Sundays better for people ?
Where would be a good mid point for those that would be interested in participating ?
Any suggestions on parks ?

Somewhere off leash where they can't run into traffic. Hence DT is out of the question.

Most awesome off-leash park around: Clayton Dog Park in Cloverdale, 188th St. at 70th Ave. HUGE area of land with separate small-dog section. Water fountains on both sides. Outhouse for the humans. Paved loop walking trails. Lots of logs and rocks and trees. We love it.
Lots of pics of it at our doggies' FB page: http://www.facebook.com/grouchoanddusty

Lots of pics of it at our doggies' FB page: http://www.facebook.com/grouchoanddusty | Wouldn't say that is a awesome off-leash park as it is a mud pit in there usually and its pretty small. You must have a small breed dog im guessing? As that side of the park is pretty dry the all dogs area is a mess.
I personally like the offleash dog park off of 208th and 42nd 2km around the gravel path with ton's of open space a few acres to be exact. All grass open field with a water fountain / dish too!

The problem with one park for all dogs is that once two or three big ones get running and playing, they tend to just plow right over anything in their path, including the small dogs... you end up with the little guys having to just cower on the sidelines.

The one off of 208th doesn't have a small dog area there but its big enought you can just walk around the path and let the dogs interact with other's as they choose. From what I have seen some people with small dogs go to the center of the park and socialize there while the majority of people with small dogs let them interact with the big guys.

So what days work best for ppl ? Saturdays or Sundays. I would like to get the ball rolling. It doesn't necessarily have to be an off leash park, just somewhere with some trails is great as well as everyone might not feel comfortable with an off leash situation.

I'd rather do off-leash... it's hard to have everyone socializing with all those dogs getting tangled up and not able to wander.
Clayton is a good park for something like this because there's good visibility no matter where you are, so you can hang around with humans while keeping an eye on your dog, plus there's a lot of boundary area between the two sections so people on both sides can chat.

The only problem with an off leash park is that it limits the people to those who are comfortable with letting their dogs off leash. The last few we did we hit up parks with trails and stopped at areas to let the more social dogs play.
So do Sundays work well for most ? ?

We regularly see people at the Clayton park walking their dogs around the trail on-leash.

The dog parks listed also have hiking trails, like the one at Hayward. There's a completely secluded dog area thats fenced off on the beach, but theres a couple really nice hiking trail.
It's very rare I let my dogs run off-leash, unless its completely fenced. Maybe you can help me with that lol

Definitely!!! I can use him to work Strut out of his terrible two whining/pulling. Atleast you know him and know he won't hurt Oak. And we all have good energy
