is it safe to buy from repo.com?

Hi guys..this thread is no fail nor joke.

Is it safe to buy from repo.com

http://repo.autotrader.ca/index.htm

they seem to have really good deals on their repossessed vehicles. I don't have to worry about some crazy guy coming after me if I buy their car do I?

OP's worried about the potentially homicidal original owner that can might come after him for buying "his" car.

My friend bought her mazda 6 from there and got it inspected by a dealership and they were impressed with the price and condition. Basically, she got a good deal on her car.

Does this depends on the car and the previous owner? More than Repo?

eg the red diablo they sold a while back belonged to a known drug dealer.

Depends. hit or miss.

usually they are poorly maintained (it wouldnt be repo'ed if the owner could afford to KEEP IT, let alone maintaining.)

that's where i'll buy my next car...it's well worth the risk. the previous owners probably had no intentions on selling their car so i bet it's in perfect condition

but repo offers driveline warranty for 3 months or something so you can buy with a peace of mind.

like others said, it depends on the car. i've seen a few MINT high end cars there, really good deals. just someone financed the car and then couldnt make the payments for wathever reason, so the car was repoed. but then there are other cars, 350z's, mustangs, corvettes, those types of cars that some kid financed, beat the shit out of and never did any maintenance to, then just let it get repoed... make sure you know your stuff if you're buying a car that's been repoed

Salesman are non-commission, prices are non-negotiable & there is a $300 fee on top of the sticker price (I guess that's their fee/commission.)
I bought a vehicle from there and it was a good experience. Took the car off the lot after buying it and immediately changed all the fluids, it's been running like a champ for the last 2 years.
