How to verify Hockey playoff tickets? So I am planning to purchase some tickets these upcoming home games, and from a few friends they said, it is easy to get scammed by people selling hard copy playoff tickets, since all Season ticket holders get them as part of their package, but if they dont pay for the post season per series, they might have the hard copies, but they wont scan as working/valid tickets? can someone correct me here or guide me to a safe or safer way to confirm the hardcopy tickets for S2G3/4 are valid and useable? P.S. this will be my first playoff game, so kinda excited. |
meet Seller at ticket master counter ? |
^ + 1 or just meet at the game and have him around when you are about the enter the gate |
get a copy of their drivers license, when i bought mine last year, the guy met me, let me take pics of his driver's license and he showed me his business card with his number and name on it..you can even call that company to verify he works there. |
thanks everyone, although I was a lil skeptical to purchase the tickets, the transaction went smooth, he brought his Season ticket booklet, proof of post season playoff payments, and with a little googling, all his info he provided eg: his home phone/email matched up. Not some temp email account, or called from a blocked number situation. to whomever else is going.... See ya at the GAME!! |
Season ticket holders need to pay for the first 2 rounds ahead of time before they receive the booklet Posted via RS Mobile |

Option 1 is pay as we play for playoffs Option 2 for paying for playoffs is for the first two rounds. Option 3 is No playoffs, next season renewal only Option 4 is playoffs no next season renewal Option 5 is decline all So in theory a season ticket holder could screw someone over by selling tickets that aren't activated/paid for. When I sell mine, I'll show the guy my DL, Canucks ID, Rip out the tickets in front of him from the booklet and show the invoice for option 2. If the guy is still too paranoid I just tell him have a nice day and go onto the next because the next person will buy them. I've been selling my season tickets whenever I can't go for the past 4 years and I usually have a regular group of people coming back to me for tickets. I trust them, they trust me, its all good. |

Werd. I have all my playoff tickets upt o the Stanley Cup Final and I'm on the pay as we play option. So my tickets won't activated till I ake payments as we clinch each round. They haven't confirmed my payment for round 2 yet so as of now my round 2 tickets are not activated. |
which game are you going to? game3 or 4? |

Have fun at the game. You are very lucky ive been to many regular season games but never playoffs. Should be a great time, especially against the Hawks it going to be a heated series. |

This always comes up as a concern but has anybody really been ripped off by fake tickets? Doesn't seem to be a common occurrence. Besides getting the guy's name/number and maybe proof of payment there isn't much you can do. |
I'v never had anyone ask me for anything when selling my canucks tickets. Sometimes they just call me and ask to meet up, they give me the money and thats it. They don't even know my name sometimes. |
Yeah, as a buyer, the best thing to do is to make sure the seller isn't shady and doesn't have anything to hide. If he's not willing to provide you with his personal info, move on to another seller. |

He provided me with the payment sheet with pay as we play option 1, and the cc info was filled out, also the top right of the sheet had his name printed on it, it is game 3 I purchased Posted via RS Mobile |

if hard copy season tickets: ask to show canucks id, proof of payment, if ticketmaster tickets ask to show proof of payment. The biggest scams are when they have hard copy tickets and you ask them why are you selling. they will say something like selling for a friend, co-worker. which means they don't have any proof of transaction at all ^ these are the most shady |
I never got a receipt from TM when I bought my tickets.. |

but most ppl sell proably 10-20 games a year b/c of time conflicts, and in playoffs u can realistically sell them at ticketmaster face value and make a good 50-100 profit per ticket depending on the round. Plus food/beer parking for 2 ppl, i'd say another 4K on top for the season. |
