vaccinations for Cancun Hey, For anyone who's gone to cancun. I was wondering if you got vaccinations. Also, if so -how much did you get? -did you do this at a family doctor or walk in clinic? -did you have to goto a doctor, get a presecription, then bring it back to the doctors for the shot or did they have them in stock. I don't have a family doctor here so.. if possible walk in clinic would be fine with me. Thanks in advance, |
I've been to Playa Del Carmen twice (which is south of Cancun) and have never had the shots, and as far as I know I don't have Hep A or B! You can get the Twinrix shot but the dosing has to be taken in something like a 6 to 12 month span, I don't think it's entirely necessary for Cancun though... http://www.twinrix.ca |
If you are staying at an all inclusive type place you probably have a higher chance in catching a common flu over anything seriuos. Stay clear from tap water and you will be fine. I've been to Mexico twice and never bothered getting any shots. Posted via RS Mobile |
doesn't hurt to hit up the travel clinics..but be ready to pay http://travelclinic.vch.ca/ |
i got back recently. the shots i got were H1N1 and Twinrix (hep A and B shot) for twinrix, you have to have a doctor's perscriptoin. either family or walk in. u gotta take 3 shots total. 2 shots within a month of each other and the third shot 5-6 months away from the second shot. \ oh btw, h1n1 is free and twinrix is 62 bucks a shot |
didn't have to get any shots myself, however make sure you pack a lot of condoms, have fun my friend |
Its silly not to take Hep shots. Take the Twinrix Theres no going back once you get Hep. |
