LA - Renting a Car

Hi everyone,

So I'll be heading down to LA with 3 other girls from May 19th - 22nd.
We're going to be staying in Beverly Hills, but we need to rent a car to get around as we will be heading down to Palm Springs as well.

It's probably more expensive to rent at LAX, so are there any suggestions as to where we can rent vehicles at a decent price?
Looking more into a SUV.

Thank you!

Try priceline.com

Bidding style website for cars, travel etc. Actually works pretty well.

^ priceline only good for hotels and stuff...

for cars, definitely use hotwire... the prices get cheaper and cheaper the closer you get to the date you're going...

i think we got our car for like 20 bucks a day or something ridiculous like that when we went to LA...

hotwire.com

I got my car when i went to LA for $12 a day. ordered it 2 days before too. Never ever EVER just show up and say you want a car. You'll get shit rates.

I've used Enterprise in LA before and used the discount coupon from that booklet thing.I just asked osmeone if I could have it.

But yes, I say book a car now....then jsut keep checking everyday then cancel the original and book the new price again (You don't give out your CC).....as they tend to get cheaper indeed.

I've never used Hotwire.com but I've gotten rentals for as low as $12/day. Mind you, these are off-site locations at Enterprise and weekend special rates so if you can get $12/day on a regular basis, then that is a sweet deal and hard to beat.

I've had a bad experience with priceline so I stay away form them now. I booked a plane from San Fran to JFK. But they sent me to La guardia in jersey instead. System error and they refused to acknowledge it or change the flight. I had to get a friend to pick me up and the commute almost made me miss my connecting flight
