The Vortex is the Vertex Kit.
Depending on what year your Soarer is, the internals are different.
92-94 = Corner Lamps. They just turn on and do nothing other than being on and have light directed to corners.
95-56 Are Fog Lights that actually project light forward and to the side.
And if you're going for that kit.. no..you can't use the early gen Fog/Corner lamps.
You need the OEM 97+ Fog lights which go for about $380 for brand new units. Used ones are about $2xx but they get bought in less than a few days on the market.
THe cheap way is to use the Dodge Intrepid Fog Lights. They're the same shape, but you need to trim some shit off of it, and they look way uglier than the OEM units. They also don't mount flush with the bumper like the OEM units do.
Note how the OEM units mount FLUSH
Interpid units do not. They also have the Alignment screw palced in the front which ruins the look.
The second pic of the Intreipid fogs: The guy modified them to mount flush-er. They're like $150 though.
Anyways: Some guy in Cali that's in Westslide Connection.
The info I posted this thread probably saved any SC3/4/Soarer owners the first 2 weeks of searching Club Lexus for info.
For good Measure:
BFI Intake for any SC3/4/Soarer. Makes more power than open filter unless you run a big single. Also costs a whopping $3. or free depending on how you do it.
Use OEM plugs. Wires don't do anything until you make real power.
2.5" exhaust if you're running Duals.
DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT Clean your MAF with intake cleaner. It's Harman (something). Does not require cleaning. You're supposed to replace it if it EVER breaks.
Low power? smoking exhaust? Swap your ECU and see results.
Trac Light goes on if your secondary 02 sensors are dead. Also happens if theres air in the actuator. Open the engine bay, under the red cap, unscrew the bleeder. Turn your car on. Close it after 5 minutes. Basically.
ALL Drivetrain/Suspension parts for MK4 Supras work on Soarers sc3/400's and vice versa. Sway bars for the SC require Supra rear swaybar mounts. The Daizen units do not, but they're ridiculously huge and pointless.
Get Supra Front Lower control arms if you hear clunking in your steering, or just torque down every bolt in your front suspension until it breaks.
Subframe spacers require some trimming on the (upper?) spacers. Just find someone with a lathe and cut out the middle.
