You do realize that some of the best motors that Toyota has made had some help from Yamaha right?

1JZ, 3SGTE, 2ZZ etc.

1JZ spawned the 2JZ, but they still made the 1J along with the 2J. Similar block, different heads, different displacement. Both came with VVT-i after 97. The 1J/2J are also Iconic motors all around the world. Straight 6 twin turbo, and they make ridiculous amounts of power when modified on a stock block/head,

3SGTE. I don't really need to say anything to prove the merits that this motor offers. Stock Car production, Rally, JGTC, etc

2ZZ. Lotus. Though not as popular as the Honda Motors, they were VERY good motors. You can blame the unpopularity of the Celica, and other factors, but it also came with .2 less displacement which limited it's potential.

All 3 that I mentioned, Yamaha co-developed the heads of each motor except the 2J. They flow magnificently, and it's easily seen in the 1J/2J. The 1J's Yamaha head flowed better than the 2J head while stock. The 2J's head needed to be modified just to catch up with the flow.

Toyota designed all of the engines. The Yamaha Connection is where they go to fine tune and balance out the engine.

But those who buy LFA can easily afford several Lambos and Ferraris. This car simply isn't meant for average income earners dude.

why does LF-A having a Yamaha engine make it less worthy?

McLaren F1 have a BMW engine
Zonda have a Mercedes engine
Maserati MC12 have a Ferrari engine
Aston Martins have a Jaguar based engine which was built by Ford
Koenigsegg used to have Ford Modular V8
Ascari have a BMW engine
Lotus have Toyota engines.... etc etc...

need I say more? besides, Yamaha makes amazing engines.

Not to mention a lot of unlisted super cars that used lsX...

and the V12 that Aston martin uses began life as two ford focus V6 mated together.

I think they're both pretty sweet cars...kudos to the GTR for still holding a candle to the brand new LFA's performance and technology.

As much as I like the LFA I'll always stick with my Nissan...then mod the shit out of it

And I would spring an extra few $$$ and go for a Murcielago.

to me, the LFA is more about status than performance.

buying a $300K lexus for status?...if I was focused on getting a status car, I would buy something with a more exotic or exclusive badge. Someone willing to spend $300K on a lexus is like someone willing to buy a $20K Tag Heuer watch. You are buying it for exclusivity & technology, not status.

^ ferrraris and lambos are a dime a dozen in this city, not exclusive at all....from an exclusivity perspective, the LFA will be in the same league as a pagani or bugatti.

Ford GT with a TT kit would smoke alot of things, as well as its alot more rare then your average day ferrari/lambo.

Way overpriced IMO. They should have priced it around 180-200K to compete with the R8 V10's, LP560's, 458's.
