Anyone know how much ethanol is in Chevron's 91 gasoline?

I'm pretty sure its 10% in 87, 5% in 89, and their 94 is 0%. I asked the gas attendant and he doesn't know. I assume its maybe 1% for 91?

Why are you guys talking about E85? BC doesn't have the infrastructure.. finding biodiesel locally is easier than E85. Heck race fuel is probably easier to find (Mission).

It will be impressive if anyone find e85 locally and damage your non e85 capable pos.

If you really want to be on the alternative fuel band wagon go all the way to biodiesel instead of half assed E85 way... We are not living in Iowa or the any of the corn growing states in the US.

From my understanding any gasoline burning engine is capable of running off e85. It just needs to be jetted and timed accordingly due to the need to run nearly twice as much of it for the same output as gasoline.

All Esso gas in BC has no ethanol in it. That's 100% confirmed.

Ethanol-blended gasoline is currently available at participating Esso service stations in Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario. Stations selling ethanol-blended gasoline have a label on the pump indicating the gasoline may contain up to 10% ethanol.

my 92 pathfinder is old, gutless and has no power

i can't tell if ethanol makes a difference or not

superstore 87 octane is all it gets :D

It doesn't say anything about BC. So that means Esso 87 really has 0% Ethanol in BC?

Shun Izaki 05-14-2010 09:14 PM

even though it does no apparent damage, you'd either get harmed a little, or none at all... the choice is obvious.

I thought Esso pumps had the ethanol sticker as well. Last time I filled up I thought I saw one. Or not?

godwin 05-15-2010 12:42 AM

It is the ethanol that do more damage to the plastics and hoses.. again.. No e85 in town... 6 gas station in middle of no where WA state that offers e85.. the chances of e85 getting in any local cars.. highly improbable.

It's not really that important for day to day operation of your car. It's only before track day / dyno tuning / drag racing where you want to make sure the fuel is 100% what you think it is.

At less than WOT in closed loop the engine can easily compensate with a modern emission computer.

We have 3 cent's off premium and we are one the Island.

Amuse 05-16-2010 07:51 AM

^ I don't see the Ethanol sticker anywhere in the last pic.
Which got me thinking...
Can gas stations add ethanol into their gas but not mention/advertise it on the gas pumps?

sonick 05-16-2010 11:43 AM

The esso in Richmond at Westminster Hwy has ethanol stickers.

That COULD be why you have no ethanol in the gas.... I believe the all gas stations getting Eth phenomenon only applies to 604.

....Which coincidentally supports retarded idea such as Aircare... ;)

crazyazn 05-16-2010 09:04 PM

Wait...what? 91 at Esso is cheaper than 91 at Shell or 92 at Chevron?

Amuse 05-16-2010 10:09 PM

So where is the best and cheapest place to get non ethanol gas? Shell 91? Superstore 91 gas any good?

No man lol, read the posts. He is from the Island. Price structure is different over there.

I think so, I alternate between Shell 91 and Chev 94 now. And yea 91 is like 13 cents difference now and it used to be 92 too. :(

Wrong, Transport Canada is planning to regulate all of Canada. :) They're just slowly implementing it.

AND it's E10!!!!! Damn it. not E85.
