Hmm... I don't think it's what i'm looking for =\

I'll look more =(

But worth a shot

EDIT:
actually if this tar contains what i think it does, I might be able to install this ROM and just do a factory reset using this.

Alright I figured it out.

If someone with a Bell Desire Z could do a backup in the "Backup and Restore" of ClockworkMod and send it my way... I can then factory restore from there...

I had a backup, but the memory card got formated =\

Shii.

Edit:

Found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=815253

It's an older version, but it'll do if I can get it working

Love the desire Z's construction and everything feels so much nicer then my desire. Using a HD2 atm, anyone ever tried putting android on one of these things? its fucking massive.

Hmm actually it feels very similar to me in terms of build. HD2 you can load android on it. If I recall almost eveything works.

You have any experience? its for a friend and I'm not entirely sure how to work with winmo...the last winmo phone I had I basically bricked it. I love the heavier feel of the desire Z versus the desire. Just switching between HD2 and desire I get a sense of ...cheapness? from the desire mainly due to the weight.

Finally got the Desire HD

One thing is for sure; it's going to take a while to get used to not having AMOLED and its amazing blacks. On the HD's SLCD screen, many greys have a greenish tint.

Then again, AMOLED's light greys had a pinkish tint...

One click root ftw

Just wondering, in your experience, is it still pocketable and how long is battery life for a couple hours of web browsing per day and minimal calling (10-15 mins per day)

Not if you want to have fast 3G internet. Wait till next year. Supposedly the HTC HD is coming to Telus.

I'll get back to you on that! As far as voice calling goes though, I only do about 10-15 mins a month, not day :

I don't have high expectations, since I am running the stock rom.

DHD battery isn't too bad at all! Probably around the same as the Desire.

Which normally isn't a great thing, but with a 4.3" screen, pretty good!

Anyone's DZ text msgs still kinda messed up after unlocking and using sms time fix?
If i send a message within the same minute of receiving one from the same person, it puts my msg before theirs. So now if i read back on my log its all fucked, LOL. Also not so often I would receive msgs without sms time fix fixing the timestamp of it. And it would end up 5 hours before.

Try receiving a text msg, and then sending one within the same minute. When I do that it, more often than not, puts my reply above their original message.

Anyone here have a Desire Z that works on Rogers 3G? I just got one the other day second hand and apparently it was from HK? I got edge to work for data but not through 3G. There was 2 different APN settings I found online, none of them worked ):

Tried the simple one posted in this thread, and also tried this one with no luck (only works through edge):

APN: rogers-core-appl1.apn
MMSC: http://mms.gprs.rogers.com
MMS Port: 80

Also tried Authentication type CHAP, and also tried leaving it blank (found on another forum that a member got it to work with the CHAP settings)

Any ideas? I love this phone but edge speeds are way too slow imo
