Roger's Long Distance

Hey guys,

My brother is coming back from Toronto tomorrow and he has a 416 number with Rogers over there. He says that one of his friends said that he won't be charged extra if he dials a local 604 or 778 number while hes here in the GVRD; however he will be charged if he receives calls. I was wondering if anyone can give me some information about this and save me a trip to a Rogers store.

Thanks in advance.

Correct.

1. Your brother dialing local numbers are treated as a local call. No LD.
2. Any incoming calls received will be billed LD.
3. No data roaming.

So if I'm in Victoria and I dial a 250 number, I won't be charged LD?

Or if I'm in Victoria and I dial a 604/778 number but they are also in Victoria, LD or no LD?

I believe if you're in Victoria and call a 250 number in Victoria (and surrounding area or Vancouver island) you're fine, but calling Kelowna would cost you long distance.

If you dial 604/778 while in Victoria, it will be long distance no matter where the recipient is

Okay last question, is this for all wireless providers (Fido, Bell, Telus and etc.) or just Rogers?

TIA

I think it would be safe to say this applies to all the carriers and has been true at least in my experience with Telus, Rogers, and Fido.
