this is for a friend who came to canada in mid 08, on working visa, went to school, full-time for a while and started to work on Dec 08
didn't file tax in 09, he's wondering if he can file 2008 tax return now and or if there is any money he could get back
if he only worked less then a month I doubt he'll get much if anything back. however he should be able to bank the school cost money and use it towards next year.
Yes he can just use the 2008 package and mail it in, I helped my friend file her 2008 and 2009 tax return a few months ago and she got the full 2008 refund back recently.
You can do em for as many years as you want (typically 3). Over 3years ago, you simply need to write a letter to tax-payer relief stating reasons why. I just redid 10years worth and got a nice lil cheque from cra. Takes a hell of a long time though. About 6months. Posted via RS Mobile
