agreed. I do see too many nice vehicles on the road today and feel like everyone is filthy rich why? however euro brands (like BMW) have very competitive lease rates, and offer free maintenance for 4 years. In some cases a BMW is cheaper to lease than a Toyota, and Toyota's premium brand - Lexus - seems to have the similar pricing than a BMW, So it comes to whether do want to drive a BMW rather than a Lexus, or Toyota. Personally i'd choose the BMW

I think the stuck pedal recall has something to do with this.

man i would personally love to lease a bimmer.

i guess what we see in the greater vancouver area is reflective of the larger scope of BMW's popularity. i thought that it was only in richmond where everyone drives a bmw but i guess i was wrong.

i understand that being the most valuable brand in the world does not rely solely on sales. I am sure there are other criteria.

Anyone care to enlighten me on this?

Don't confuse valuable and value. Sales have nothing to do with valuable. Toyota outsells BMW by quite a lot.

Valuable is defined as having qualities worthy of respect or admiration. Innovation, technology, quality and image.

Which is what Toyota used to stand for...

Surprising, but not too surprising, considering BMW hasn't been hit with assloads of recalls like most other automakers. And they've managed to maintain their "premium" image throughout most of the world, even though anyone in Germany knows they're really like Chevrolet over there.

you dont like the views on leasing? I think its pretty good to be leasing a BMW because they have the best deals. My Mother is currently leasing a BMW X3. The price fit the bugget, you dont have to pay for maintenance, you drive the car for 4 years however the hell you want and hand back the keys. If you own a BMW, after 4 years and 80,000kms it becomes a ticking time bomb. The resell on a BMW is not great either, so buying and then reselling can be an issue. Plus leasing can be done through the expense of a company.

BMW covers everything other than brakes, and tires.

My mother's old BMW X3 when it for an Inspection II service and the bill was supposed to be $800.00 but it was free because of the no-charge maintenance for 4 years. During the 4 years we had the car we changed the brake pads on all 4 corners once, and it cost a little over $400, and that was at the dealer. Part of the reason why they give a no charge maintenance is because the car hardly goes to the dealer. An oil change is basically done every year. BMW Oil change intervals are every 24,000kms. Ideally not good for the car, and could cause sludge problems.

Porsche is a far more valuable automotive brand than BMW
