Should I buy a 1992 Honda Accord EX-R or a 2001 Honda Accord EX V6 or 1995 Camry V6?

I`m interested in a 1992 Honda Accord EX-R and a 2001 Honda Accord EX V6 and I am having a difficult time deciding which of the two aforementioned cars to get. Both of the two aforementioned cars are in good condition. However the kilometers driven between the the two aformentioned cars vary quite drastically, the 1992 Honda Accord EX-R has 75,000Km while the 2001 Honda Accord EX V6 has 140,000Km. Now I am also interested in a 1995 Toyota Camry V6 LE sedan with 120,000Km. Which of the aforementioned cars should I buy?

2001.

Time plays a role on aging a car, not just the km on it.

Is the 01 Accord standard or automatic? Be careful of the automatic 6th gens, they are notorious for crapping out. Thats why on my auto accord 6th gen I bought a 4cyl.

Its hard to give some good advice without some more info. What are the prices of the two cars? any accidents? etc...

There are many 20 year old cars that are in much better condition and run better than some 10 year old cars. What is the 92 accord was driven by an 80 year old who never drove it the winter, over 40km/hr and over 3k rpm, and the 01 accord was rebuilt and driven by a 16 year old with various issues.

Either way there is not enough info to give solid advice.

Since the 6th gen is v6 it's auto, try to get a history on the car. How many trannies its gone thru, rebuilt or replaced.

When you test drive the car. Slowly row down the gears one by one leave 3-4 seconds per gear and when it hits 1st if you feel a big jerk. DO NOT BUY. When you drive the car and the car shifts hard DO NOT BUY.

Tranny's are expensive to replace, and it's not worth it.

If you have any more questions feel free to pm me, I know too much about 6th gens... I own one and also a 7th gen

The 4th gen accord for sure, one of the most reliable cars i've ever had. Not to mention you can throw an H22A in there and rip apart ricer civic si and preludes lol;

ex-v6 breaks trannies.. i wouldnt buy one unless its been replaced recently.

i for one, being a cheap ass, would take the 4th gen instead.

sure its older... but those things are bullet proof, assuming maintenance work is up to date. (besides that little rotor in the distributor on the earlier cars..)

your choice really. its your money.

even without turbos that's a DOHC V6..... changing sparkplugs, sealing up valve cover gasket leaks, replacing timing belt etc are going to cost you twice as much than anything inline...

transversely mounted V anything makes no sense. Maybe the American V6s that are like pushrods and stuff....

I have both those cars...

93 EX-R with almost 400,000km
98 EX with 160,000km

The older one had been trouble free but the newer one with V6 has a really common tranny problem.

if you dont have too much cash kicking around, i think the simpler, older EX-R is a better buy..

i actually think the interior material quality in the 4th gens are actually superior to the latest Accords *cough* 8gen *cough*

Whats the price differenct if any?

personally i like the 4th Accords a lot better.. haha if you plan getting the 6th gen, let me know about the 4th gen...

if the 4th gen is standard, its even better... a standard 4th gen is rare.. is it a 2 door? if so those are even harder to find nowadays...

Damn I thought an Accord would be DOHC by the year 2000 lol....I guess it's a Mitsubishi thing.

but anyway having 2 banks is not cool if it's not going to make you go faster by a lot. :P
