Honda "diagnosis"

Alright so yes ive searched and couldnt find anything, but anyway, my car "2000 prelude" has had an annoying as hell squeak coming from the front right suspension and ive looked at everything and cant find the problem, how much would honda charge if i just wanted to know what exactly was wrong? and any honda dealerships recommended? thanks.

Dunno. Most likely they will charge per hour till they find the problem, and at $100 per hour, you can guestimate how much it will cost.

What are you doing when you hear this squeal?
Drivign straight? Turning? Forward? Backward? Is it constant, or can you make it louder or quieter?

Define "looked at everything".

Squeaks happen under load, which is hard to do while you have your head under the car looking at the suspension.

My rear suspension squeaks. I solve it by spraying all the bushings on the arms and sway bar with silicon lube. It might be this simple.

Is it sqeaking at full lock? Good be your tires rubbing. Alot of cars don't like being at full lock.

Do you have to go over a bump when you're turning? If that's the case then I would say it's a bushing of some sort.

Like Taylor said, grab some silicon lube or something similar and spray all the moving parts in the front of your car. Or even maybe some wd40, shouldn't hurt anything.

Well, something is being strained... I want to say your pump is on the frits. Or maybe something in your steering rack...

A mechanic is a mechanic. I wish people would let go of the whole "he works at vw so he doesn't know honda" thinking.

Suspension for the most part is the same on almost all cars.

Anyways, when you're turning there are only a few things that can squeak while turning.
Balljoints and strut mount bushings/bearings.

If you can only hear it while its on the ground and not up in the air its most likely the ball joints are dry. Check to see if theres any tears around the boot on both upper and lower ball joints.

i never said cause he is VW mechanic he dosnt know honda, he just simply is all out of idea of what it could be. but yes i was thinking ball joints as well, and car does not squeak when up in the air, possible to lube the ball joints? or should i just buy new ones?

unless they're aftermarket you can't really lube them.

you can always poke a small hole in the suspecting one and spray lube in it, it'll get quiet for a bit till it gets dry again.

the long term solution would be to replace them.

you can simulate load on a ball joint while the car is in the air and turn the steering to pinpoint which balljoint too.

upper control arm bushings would squeak on bumps and any up and down motion (those are the two bushings that hold the control arm to the body)

that black ball joint looking piece is the upper ball joint.
