no offence, but anyone can work on an infiniti.

you can always call infiniti and see who they reccommend since they do offer body work.

I don't anything about bismark but I know that my friend is the painter at automind and he is very good at what he does, I've seen most of his work and they'll take care of anything that you request, if you speak canto even better.

Using OEM glass isn't up to the shop, it is up to your insurance policy. So unless you have OEM replacement parts only on your policy, it is a good chance you won't be getting an OEM windshield.

thanks guys. im going to rich city collision w/infiniti autowest overseeing everything. they seem to be a pretty well recommended shop. nci(nissan canada infiniti) certified and are used by autowest bmw, mini, infiniti regularly.

Infiniti autowest probley wont be overseeing anything, they just recommended rich city because there close, friendly and buy all there parts orders from them.

Dealership generally won't take ICBC claims. ICBC pay like 70% of the usual rate so many individual mechanics won't take them either. For those who actually take it, quality of work is not up there. It's a real bitch.

well i guess windshields get replaced all the time so its not a big deal? ill check with the shop though.

you drive g35? g37? I got a rock chip on my fx few weeks ago and got the windshield replace via claim. When i brought the car to the shop I found out infiniti only use generic windshields, there isn't an infiniti logo on any of the glass. Check out your ride, might be the same

godwin 06-07-2010 02:47 PM

Actually I think the way it works is ICBC only covers generic.. if you want to have the Infiniti logo, you have to pay extra.. that's what happen when I changed ours. About $150+ for the logo, however then you will find the manufacturer of the glass might not be the same one.

ICBC will tend to use whatever is the cheapest replacement. My mom had a claim once and the parts came from all over the place. OEM if there is no aftermarket. But they also use recycled parts if they are available since they are the cheapest.
