anyway if you intend to get a case for your iphone, you'll have 0 problems. if you don't intend to at all (no bumper or case or anything) then you may have an occasional one bar loss at times. no big deal

Damn I must have a lemon. I travel back and forth ubc - Sfu almost everyday and avg 2 dropped calls a day out of 8. Pretty much any call longer than 5 mins will be dropped. Even at home somehow talking with the gf not even holding the phone it may drop >:0 I understand there are dead zones within the city but at home I find it unacceptable. One upside to the iPhone that isn't so easy to measure is the actual quality of the calls at least compared to gf's 9700 also on fido.

Bring it into an Apple store. They'll replace it with a new one.

just stop in and ask and see what they say...i never even bothered to call rogers about mine

you have to go to apple canada's website and find the closest apple store that you'd like to visit and book an appointment with a 'genius' at their 'genius bar'

that accessory thing usually happens when water goes into the earplug hole, just let it dry and it will get back to normal soon.

apple store does contracts
if you want one through them though, i suggest you go to the nearest apple store right when it opens and sign up for an appointment. they only do a handful every day, the first time i called, i called at 1030 (an hour and a half after they opened) and all the appointments for the day were gone already. also you are higher priority if you actually sign up in person vs. over the phone

if you can get an appointment you're guaranteed an iphone unless you don't show up, so it's definitely not too hard, and beats waiting for who knows how long

also, they'll do it exactly like you would at a fido/rogers store (i even used my accumulated fido dollars) so it's no different. they'll set everything up for you (including the microsim) and you'll pay for the phone when you get your next bill - you don't pay for anything at the apple store (unless you get coverage, etc)

AFAIK this story isn't bs. i was asking around a few pages ago, stating that i got my iphone recently and that they'd recently changed the phillips screws on the bottom to those 5 star ones, and i was asking around as to who knew where to get a screwdriver, and who knew where to get replacement screws

as for the screwdriver being "impossible" to obtain, that isn't true, they're all over ebay. in fact upon finding out my screws weren't phillips, i went to jp cell repair and he helped me pop em out and put in phillips ones

because the newer iphone4's are being shipped with these pentalobe screws, doesn't surprise me that they'd be swapping the screws when you bring your phone in for repair too. 95% of people are gonna have a phillips screwdriver that fits the old screws, significantly less are gonna have the pentalobe screwdriver
