On a side note, those who have installed an aftermarket back cover, did you guys experience any issues regarding your reception/signal going down 1 bar? Posted via RS Mobile |
I did. Well, in some places where I used to get full bars, I lose one bar. Perhaps it wasn't solidly full bars anyways, and the cover knocked it down a little. In the kitchen I mostly get 4 bars now, but occasionally you see it jump to full. |
ipad baseband mod is irreversable. nothing is ready for 4.2.1. lots of apps cause crashes to springboard. 4.2.1 improvements are minimal. i also experienced freezing, lag and random reboots. 4.1 is stable. if you do update or have no choice (new device) then try to minimize your apps to keep things stable. waiting a few weeks will also gives the devs a chance to iron out the wrinkles in their apps and cydia. early adopters always get burned. |
so what you guys think, how long till an unlock comes out for 4.2.1 so i can use with rogers? because im gonna be stuck without a cell until it does, fck |

how do y'all download themes? i normally use ithemesky but it pisses me off sometimes cause some themes dont work and its constantly crashing... do you guys all just download from cydia or is there any good computer programs? |
4.2.1 is a lot more stable than 4.1 imo. 4.2.1 also fixes the proximity sensor issue where you'd hang up or even press buttons while your in a call. greenpois0n always seems to have issues with me, even for 4.1. redsn0w untethered will work great for 4.2.1 aslong as you have the 4.2b3 shsh. its very stable and i've had other frnds who use it aswell |
4.2.1 is perfectly stable. I don't know where you guys are getting all this "4.2.1 isn't stable" noise from |
im using limera1n for my 4.1, no problems at all gf is using tethered 4.2.1 redsn0w, no problems besides the tethered-ness |

no crashes or anything |
I don't get why everyone has having so many problems with 4.2.1 GP. I have NO problems so far. Is it maybe because people are restoring from backup which could be causing some conflicting problems? I never restore from backup and always set up as new just to avoid carrying over any problems from the backup. My only complaint is one of my cydia apps isn't updated to work perfectly with 4.2.1 yet. (remove background. it causes the statusbar to disappear) |
i thought the recommendation was to skip 4.2 and wait for 4.3 !? |

anybody having problems with bitesms 5.1? mine keeps crashing on me whenever i try to send a message but the msg gets sent through anyways, it's quite annoying |
well as im beta testing an app right now i had to go BACK to 4.2.1 :( however, i reinstalled everything fresh and didn't use my backup, everything seems to be running ok. i forgot my own golden rule. don't restore from backup when updating your firmware. unfortunately that means i gotta download like 600 mangas all over again. Cydia is still a little flakey but overall, i can live with the mionor issues now. |
did anybody recently do the update from cydia? I have couple things on my list that Cydia is asking me to update but when I click on update I also get a message that one of the app required to run cydia will be removed? |
