Reading the comments most people seem to have problems with battery life. My friend who upgraded to iOS4 only lasted 5 hours |
Hmm so the issue with the reception can be fixed by throwing a case on it... also who actually palms their phone when they are talking? The discoloration has been resolved (at least hope so) from a rep on the apple forum and the scratches on the screen just dont be a fking idiot and key your screen. |
My 16GB 3GS seems to be working fine without killing the battery too fast. Was fully charged today at just after lunch, used it on the net a bit, bit on google earth, talked on it for about 45 minutes total, sent some texts, currently sitting at 77% now |

God they better resolve this it's pissing me off |
I'm pretty sure it's a hardware design flaw.. The antenna is in the bottom (as required by FTC) but when exposed to skin becomes grounded. Nothing will change that other than "holding it the right way" or buying an ugly skin for it to work as a buffer. |
Ya it's a placement flaw. The old iphones had the antenna on the back. Left-handed users are screwed. guess i'll have to wait another year |
Yeah, it's a design flaw... I think that's the reason apple introduced the case along with it as well? :D |
If you plan to drop your glass screen phone 4x from that height onto solid concrete then you deserve to get it cracked, I used to be very careless with my phones, tossing it around, leaving it on the edge of the desk while I eat etc, then one day dropped my Startac II (cost me an arm and a foot at that time) and since then have never dropped another phone (over 13+ years). If you need to be super careless then get a cheap $30 phone, you can drop it 1000x and even if it breaks, just buy another. The loosing reception while holding it is gay thou, might have to hold back a rush purchase and test it out first. |
you could fix it with a rubber band around the phone lol. a better option would be a BestSkinEver transparent type skin over the metal band. |

I've heard that other phones (like the Nexus One) had the same issues as well with certain hand placements killing reception. I don't think it's really strictly something Apple related? |

^ That's Rogers saying that they don't have exclusivity and that they don't want to admit it. And please, don't call about the iPhone4 because they are too cheap to hire enough quality CSR's that can handle all the call volume regarding the iPhone4. |
im hearing a july28th first come first serve basis for launch...and in very very very limited quantities |
