Receive signal at
-60dBm is 1 nanoW
-90dBm is 1 picoW

Guess what happens when you cover the antenna with your hand?

i think iOS 4 runs even faster than 3.1.3 on my 3GS

TOS'd 06-26-2010 02:29 AM

^ no surprise there. it would be different if it was a 3G.

3M dinoc. Just saw the video. In addition there's "brushed aluminum" adhesive strip that goes around the bezel. This is what's preventing the reception drop.

Between the 3 bodyguardz, bestskinsever, invisibleshield anyone highly recommend/not recommend a certain one?

I heard the invisible shield gives the skin a bit of an orangy color which I don't really want.

Planning to get the new Iphone4 in white

way2quik 06-26-2010 05:43 PM

^ I had BSE and it's just as you described for Invisible Shield.

late edit: What I meant was orange-brown mold around the corners after a while, not some funky orange colour.

SkinnyPupp 06-26-2010 07:35 PM

I had the InvisibleShield for a short time on my black phone, and it didn't have a tint. I would highly recommend it for the back of a phone, but not the front. It is very tacky and clingy, so not suitable for front screens.

Anyone who complains about installation just didn't do it properly.

threezero 06-26-2010 10:27 PM

i believe there is company that does matte version of these skins, that should eliminated the stickiness

SkinnyPupp 06-26-2010 10:57 PM

Matt won't be opaque though, so that won't work for the front either.

threezero 06-26-2010 11:30 PM

its the same material as the antiglare screen protectors for the front. is matte not the right word lol

ForbiddenX 06-27-2010 10:40 AM

I'm pretty sure it is matte. I always order matte screen protectors.

I ordered some for the iPhone 4 haha. Making sure the phone is protected day 1!

Matte screen protectors look odd and feel weird though. Did not like having a matte one on my other phone.

TOS'd 06-27-2010 12:46 PM

Are Matte screen protectors just Matte feeling?

Cause I've had normal 'sticky' ones. But also Anti-glare ones, which felt 'matte' to the touch.

threezero 06-27-2010 01:35 PM

yea the matte one is the anti glare. I guess its personal but i love how it feels on the phone, so much that i find myself sliding on finger on the screen every know and than. With the normal sticky one its not as smooth when you play games and i loath the fingeprints on it.

With the matte ones i only ahve to give the screen a wipe down every few weeks where as with the normal kind i have to wipe it down every 2-3 days if not daily to prevent it from looking gross and moldy.

I have to say though with the matte ones it quality makes a big difference, I buy the more expensive one from sgp or powersupport and they look great, just a bit dimmer but perfectly acceptable. I can see why some ppl might hate the matte ones because they brought the cheap ones. The cheap ones make the screen look broken....

Yeah personal preference. I did buy a more expensive one which I always do with my screen protectors. You are right about the fingerprints though.

We were talking about the protectors that use 3M vinyl, such as InvisibleShield. AFAIK there's no such thing as matte clear vinyl.

But there are matte screen protectors. I do prefer them, because they are absolutely fingerprint free, and also allow your finger to slide easily over the screen. Better than glass, plastic, or any regular screen protector.

The only issue with matte screen protectors is that they slightly distort the image by making it sort of 'grainy'. It's hard to explain unless you look at it yourself.

i'm sure that will get hack eventually. most of the issues seems to lie with at&t, i dunt think rogers in canada is as anal as at&t.

I don't know how the denying warranty part work. is it legal to refuse warranty base on past information gather without a user's knowledge? I mean what if apple pull that data today and than 2 days later i reformat the phone unjb it and sell it to someone else. That person never jb and need to claim warranty a month later. so he now have no warranty, as his argument to apple is that he brought the phone believing it has never been jb (entirely possible if this jb checking thing is true, everybody will claim they've never jb their iphone when they resell it and there is no way for the buyer to check).
