Also. I'm glad they FINALLY put scrubbing into videos. They had it for audio before I didn't get why they didn't have it for video. It's much more useful for videos anyway

4.3.1 from 4.0.1 is great... I'm loving it. Haven't encountered any problems yet besides the "Low Battery" message.. Says i have 543000000% left lol

As for the tethering, get "TetherMe" from Cydia. It's legit and Rogers/Fido allows tethering if you have data.

Ok, so far i set redsnow to Windows XP and 2000 mode and it still crashes. I even set the CPU 01 uncheck and it still crashes. Anyone else on Vista here trying to jailbreak having crashing issue?

Is there an alternative to redsnow?

I'm on Windows 7 and have the same problem.... gonna try that "set affinity" thing


EDIT: First I ran redsn0w as administrator... didn't work. I couldn't even access the set affinity menu as administrator.
Ran it as normal and unchecked CPU 0 in "set affinity" and it works!



4.3 in general raped my battery life... i wish i stayed on 4.2.1.
I'm leaving my iPad on 4.2.1.. it's got amazing battery life

when my ipod touch reboots (i downloaded all the right stuff)
it reboots to a white screen . is this normal or should it reboot to the normal startup screen with the apple logo?

u need a 1gb+ plan to tether natively, hotspot or not. i had mywi and my3g installed before and it really killed my battery life.

i don't think that's normal; altho i don't quite understand what you described. what is it that you did i.e. d/l what right stuff??

i updated 2 ipod touch 4g's last night to 4.3.1 using pwnagetool and it was a breeze.

i mean i know i downloaded the right firmware and ipsw

i followed every step until redsn0w says that i have to wait for it to reboot. when it reboots though it gets stuck on a blank white screen :s

Guys who are having problems with redsnow might want to try snowbreeze, I used it for preserving baseband+jailbreak just now and it worked fine. Or just wait for greenpoison, it should be coming out soon.

I spoke to the seller he assured me the quality of the white back was at par with the original glass. He showed me both once he took them off and they were identical on the inside. Anywho, for anyone that's interested, here are some pics of it, I took the pics with the iPad so you can compare the color, it's pretty much identical. Not bad for $60.:)

As for this, you can buy it off ebay for around 10 bucks. Make sure you get the one that has the small pieces on the backside though, because the ones with nothing on the back won't do you any good.

Anyone know any place at all that sells apple logo stickers? I want one that's around the same size as the original one on my iphone, but I don't want any rainbow ones.. I'm looking for just a normal black one or a chrome one. I even checked eBay but all they have is the rainbow apple :(

My phone is now stuck on a black screen. It is one just black and non responsive, even to pressing the home and power button for long periods of time. Its been like this for 2 hours now.

maybe it's stuck in DFU mode. have you tried using tinyumbrella to kick it out of that mode?

This is what i did:

I originally had rebooting issues with 4.2.1 where it would crap out and reboot and try rebooting for long periods of time but it would always work just take a lot of time.

I updated to 4.3.1 worked fine. Just did jailbreak today worked fine. Started syncing my old backup and while that was happening the phone crapped out and started to reboot. This time it stayed black, the screen is still on and its been on for over 3 hours now just black. Launched tinyumbrela to kick it out of DFU mode but the option is grey. It doesn't even recognize my phone is connected. I tried a method some dude on youtube had and downloading the files put a virus on my computer. Now I restored to a later date and my computer is working fine except my built in card reader in my computer stopped working. Fucking Apple.

anyone know how to get rid of the faint outline around the unlock slider? can't find anything...
