I see what you did there.

I meant bypass the emergency call so i can get to the apps page and download ultrasnow from cydia

DJ Milk 04-07-2011 11:01 AM

No, you going to need a sim card to do that and it has to be a sim card from the carrier the iPhone is locked to. Or you can order a universal iphone activation sim card from dx for $2.86. Don't know if this still works though

noob question ~ so i followed the instructions to jailbreak using pwnage tools and i have cydia and winterboard but whenever i try to open winterboard ... it seems like it'll open and it'll instantly close a second later

googled it ~ said to hard reset and restore and jailbreak again

done it

same problem

anyone know what's happening?

cho 04-08-2011 02:47 PM

on the newer basebands, w/o the gevey sim THERE IS CURRENTLY NO UNLOCK

if you want to bypass the emergency call screen to activate the phone, you can use pwnagetool and select the "activate the phone' option.

Using liveos 1.4. It looks great, the concept is original and is made by master theme maker Blue. It took me like 2 hours to set up though, and the files together are a couple hundred mb large. iPhone 4 cant handle it perfectly, it needs a better cpu to run it but its still good enough; better than most themes atleast.

LoL... I had a feeling it would do that... so I ended up putting a screen protector on the back to cover the logo and writing. :lol

The clear back case that I got, the glass is starting to come apart after a month so now I'm back to using the oem one which feels a lot better :bigthumb:

I read about that too. Www.cutyoursim.com I believe.

Chronic (iPhone jailbreaker) says he's positive it's legit and I trust his judgement.

I read it on musclenerd's twitter and also at 3 other forums I visit before I posted it here. Some people already paid and will report back when their iPhone gets unlocked. The turn around time is about 24 hours so got to wait till tomorrow to find out if it actually works or not.

Because they can't since they live in the USA or something. And because if you're going to stay with your carrier anyways, it makes sense to just sign a contract. Not everyone change carriers every month or travels around the world every 3 months. If you do then you should buy an unlocked iPhone to begin with.

yeah, but you may as well just buy an unlocked one from Apple.ca like me. it was only $80 more than the price Rogers offered me.

i just couldnt deal with the constant worry of

"shit will the next firmware be unlockable???"

every 3 months.

To purchase unlock service click
This does NOT affect your warranty status, because this is an official iPhone unlock.
NOTE: the bolded part was colored the same as the background.....pretty invisible

This remote unlock works for iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4

1) Type in your iPhone's IMEI number in the IMEI# section. You can get this number from the phone by dialing *#06# (This is very important) please do not get the IMEI number from the box, or about screen.

NOTE: Please check, and double check your entered IMEI#, I can't give refunds for orders with incorrect IMEI Numbers

Even though this will officially unlock your iPhone, Facetime may not be supported by unofficial carriers, unless you purchase MiTime activation from http://mitime.info/
2) Once payment is received, we will email you when the phone is ready, and unlocked. (This can take 2-5 days, or less) You will not need to enter any codes, your IMEI# will be added to Apple's whitelist and will be unlocked forever.

3) Once unlock is complete, we will notify you. All you have to do then is, connect your iPhone with any Sim Card to iTunes. This will then activate and unlock your phone
either hacking Apples servers somehow or they have someone on the inside. Maybe an unlock deal with Apple that's being quietly implemented.

http://www.4coolday.com/iphone-4-unl...sim-p-226.html

If you turn off the phone, do I have to redo the procesdure?
Yes

Has anyone tried this? Is this statement true?

G-spec 04-12-2011 06:35 PM

ok so i finally unlocked my iphone 4 with Gevey i bought from green net PC for $60 cash, and everything works just fine i can text i can call, but anything else that uses data doesn't work...

i cant surf the internet i cant use google maps, basically my data is useless, i can only call and text, am connected to rogers network no connection issues... so is this supposed to be this way, or did i do something wrong ?

also i have error msgs pop up every once in a while when i'm texting that say i'm not connected to a cellular network, the texts go through anyway no problem minor annoyance yes and not everything is smooth at this point with Gevey, but fck it i can finally use my phone for telephone functions texting calling...

and yes the guy told me if i turn my phone off i have to repeat the same procedure of dialing 112 emergency etc...

invader 04-12-2011 07:01 PM

Take it to Apple, get it replaced lol
