+1

I switched from the Bold 9000 over to the Nexus One and it's SUCH a huge improvement.

I didn't bother to wait for the iPhone 4 because there wasn't enough changes there for me to switch back to it. The apps are great but most of them are useless imo.

Mugen EvOlutioN 06-28-2010 10:13 AM

plus BBM is fucking overated

just use mobile msn or some shit

You probably missed the most important word in what he said, and that was "official". Yes, there are third party apps that people have made to try and imitate BBM, but if it's not an official app, preferably one that is built-in and distributed with the iPhone by default, it'll never have mass penetration to the majority of users...

I'm going to guess that you bought a BlackBerry cause everyone else had one.

this is only cool if you have lots of frds with bb or else you are going to end up using sms or msn to chat anyways. Although an official app by apple would be cool.

I hope apple is paving the way for their own messenger on the iphone, since they are doing the facetime thing they could somehow tide it into an iphone version of ichat

Forgot to indicate that, but yea, thats true. Just because you have the particular messaging app doesn't mean everyone else you know with an iPhone is going to carry it too.

I've found the official msn messenger to be quite awesome actually. It has almost all the same features as the actual msn, you can send folks pictures directly from your phone, haven't seen if you're able use your camera as a webcam yet though; would be great if msn can get this to work!

Its unfortunate that it DOES sign you out, even when you ARE multi-tasking (at least when you go to the home screen to open up another application).

I've been waiting for an official msn app for a LONG time and I must say I'm very disappointed in it.

There are tons of other msn apps out there that can send pictures, chat history log, MULTI-person chat, block users, categorize users, change username.

I dunno how the offical app can be so crappy when their official app for other phones (nokia phones, sony erricsson) is almost perfect.

Hopefully they update it soon.

TOS'd 06-29-2010 02:27 AM

Hmm, really?

Although you close the application, it is still running push, so if you do get a msg, it will show. How do i know this? Because I can see on my desktop computer that I am signed in at 2 places. And when I get a msg it would show on both computer and I would get an iPhone notification.

- The official msn app can send pictures, either album or take one on the spot.
- It does have chat history log. And also if you are signed in at 2 places at once, ie. computer and phone, it will log the chat on your computer as well.
- There is MULTI-person chat on the phone application. But you have to get someone on a computer to add the 3rd, 4th, etc person in.
- No block users
- No categorize users
- No change name
