Long story short.
bought an iPhone dirt CHEAP off craigslist
A deal I couldn't resist. I accidentally broke the lock button by dropping it. No visible physical damage.
I know I can get a replacement phone from apple. Thing is they check the serial number to guarauntee that it has warranty.
And all iPhones have warranty. But Im assuming it's stolen since it came with nothing. Will they take away my phone if it really is.
Or will they replace it regardless? People don't report their serial numbers when their phone is stolen right?

Pretty greedy on my part for buying something that's most likely stolen but I guess this is karma?

I think your out of luck. Anytime I take apple products to the apple store or reseller they first scan the serial number before anything... Even if the person doesn't report it stolen to apple I think the carrier would.

i think the iphone just has a dislocated lock button. anyone have one of those prying tools i can buy?

I currently have the 3gs, is it worth the wait to get the iphone 5?

I don't know about the iPhone 5, who knows if that is coming late this year or next. I too have the 3GS and have enough fido dollars to get a free iPhone 4 at renewal. Because the 3GS is still chugging along and I don't need a new phone (no hardware problems or cracked screen) I am holding out until the fall... Rumors point to an iPhone refresh around September, call it the iPhone 4S or iPhone 5... At this point it's so close and the possibility of a dual core A5 processor and other upgrades is worth the wait!

I dunno if I can wait.. I'm using a 3GS right now and I've had the touch pad replaced on it.. Doesn't feel the same anymore. The phone also seems quite sluggish now. So tired of having to constantly kill apps to keep it running smooth. Plus that retina display on the iPhone 4 is mighty tempting.. Ugh I have such a love/hate relationship with cell phones.

i would at least wait until next week. The Apple Worldwide Conference is on June 6th. So there might be a possible unveiling of the iphone 5. :)

I installed Dreamboard on 4.3.3 and it caused my Springboard to crash and never restore. I had to remove it. Any idea on whats wrong?

^ i havent had any trouble with it you need to download Dreamboard connection then dreamboard itself
