why not just buy an unlocked iPhone? or trade someone + cash (like me lol)
every new firmware will kill the Gevey anyways.

I'm in the same boat, leaving to HK in 2 days. Tried to find an unlocked iPhone4 but no dice, so I'm just going to buy a Gevey in HK(since it's like 150 HKD)

Fixed my timestamp issue.
Overrode the default carrier.plist with the Rogers one.

yes, u can restore all the apps when u make a backup.. 
but when your friend uses his own computer to sync.. all the apps will be erased..
you can always just JB the phone and use iFunbox/Winscp to trasnfer the .ipa's to the Installous folder and install the apps that way Quote:

And that means the second iPhone will be the exact same as the original?
My iPhone will be jailbroken, but don't want to go through the hassle of having all the apps from the Appstore and Cydia reinstalled.

Have to restore my iPhone for like the third time in two days later tonight.
Keeps getting stuck in the Apple logo loop. Using TinyUmbrella to reboot my phone for now.

Was using my phone just fine, then when I checked back to it 2 seconds later I can't turn my phone on. I pressed all the buttons but my screen is black and it had full battery. Tried charging and nothing. Did my phone die? Should I go to Apple and will they get me a new one? iPhone 4
Edit: held the home and lock button down for 10 sec and it's back to normal.
