so when i do firmware upgrades, i like to retain my baseband version and use things like sn0wbreeze or pwnagetool. I also like to set the iphone up as a new device and not restore from backup, because problems might carry over, or new problems may arise with the new firmware. it's also a gd opportunity to weed out apps that you like to hoard but never use. before performing the upgrade, update all your apps to the latest version in the appstore or apptrackr.

when i setup the new device, i lost a lot of my game data/saves. i'm sure it will make you not want to play that particular game anymore. what you can do is use itools to extract your iphone backup created before the firmware upgrade and copy the entire 'applications' folder. in that folder under each individual app will be two folders named documents and library.

after you install your new jailbroken firmware, install installous+appsync thru cydia and reinstall all your old apps, free or cracked, back onto the phone. from here on, you can use ifunbox to browse and expand each app you just installed. you will see the same 'documents' and 'library' folder. this is where you will copy the same folders over from the backup you extracted earlier.

hope that helps some of you, it should work with a lot of apps, not all. worked on my jetpack joyride.

Big battery improvement upgrading to 5.1.1

Ommmg so I've only had my iPhone 4 for just a little over a year now and recently the home button started not working properly .__. like I'd have to double press it or even press really hard for it to work. Now are there any fixes out there for this or should I just take it in somewhere to get repaired??

In the meantime you can use touch assist ( in accessibility option). Best take it to the apple store.

I have done a fresh restore on my iPhone and it still does the same thing =/
I even heard on pressing it down and blowing on the home button to release some of the dirt that collected in there.. to no avail still has the problem.

It's a common problem and I just learn to live with it. You can try to recalibrate your home button and see if that works.

latest software unlock only does 01.59.00, 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.13.01, 05.12.01 and 06.15.00. feel free to look for and pay anyone else that says otherwise. visit the iOS version history for reference and google the difference between your firmware and your baseband.

Did the whole recalibration thing still same problem :/ I guess I'll take it in to apple and see how much it'll be to fix
