This will be the first I-phone I get mainly due to 720p video + flash on the camera. In regards to video chat and holding your phone in front of you...That's generally how you would use it for the internet, games and as an mp3 player? Maybe I'm missing something...

Apple CEO Steve Jobs says next iPhone will have clearer screen, 2 cameras

SAN FRANCISCO - Apple CEO Steve Jobs says the next iPhone will have a clearer screen and will be noticeably thinner than previous versions of the device.

Jobs kicked off Apple's annual conference for software developers Monday by discussing improvements in the influential touch-screen device.

But he didn't initially disclose the price or release date.

The newest model is called iPhone 4. It is less than 10 millimetres thick.

The previous iPhone, released last year, was about 12 millimetres.

It has a higher-resolution screen and a front-facing camera, which could be used for videoconferencing.

Jobs called it "the biggest leap since the original iPhone."

i agree that this is bullshit, why do we have to wait till "july" to get it? I've been waiting for this phone long enough to keep me from getting a blackberry...

That's because no one has every implemented it well.

Having it as a feature vs. having it as something that is implemented well for people to use are two different beasts.

Anyone else disappointed that its still stuck at 32G? Personally held back buying the 3gs cause was waiting for the "next upgrade to 64G". Current Ipod has about 20G+ of music, with a few Vids, Apps, Games, Mails, Photos, etc... 32gig won't be sufficient. They should have added the option of buying it with the new Toshiba 64g chip, even at 200-300 more, im sure it would sell like crazy

LED flash and thinner body is good thou... sigh... either gonna have to start deleting/re-encoding to 192k or sit and wait till iphone 5g comes out next June. ~_~

What is there to implement? Dial and turn on the camera. It's been like that for every phone and as far as I can tell, it's the same for the iPhone 4. Oh, except you can't use 3G to do it so it's actually a step backwards.

If you think it feels natural to hold your phone directly in front of you while you TALK into it, then by all means...

TOPEC 06-07-2010 01:20 PM

the exterior looks pretty sick, it would be a shame to cover it up with a case, but then again i would cover it up on day one because i dont like scratches.

According to this page: http://www.apple.com/iphone/compare-iphones/

8 GB - $499
16 GB - $599
32 GB - $699

It's in the fine print.

Hardened glass on the back and front and aluminum bezel. The backside illuminated camera looks interesting as well as the dual noise cancelling mics. Best things of all.. IPS screen and long battery life. Probably sticking to Android though.

SkippyLang 06-07-2010 01:29 PM

can bad things about the new iPhone?

Um, I've never used video calling before, but I'd imagine it would feel pretty natural since you'll be talking directly the person.

HonestTea 06-07-2010 01:49 PM

Man whens the 4.0OS coming out for the 3GS lol

Think I should sell my 3GS now and get a Iphone4 when I come back in 3 months? since I won't be bringing my 3GS overseas anyways lol

What did you think, apple would give everything so you won't want to buy the 64GB version next year?

LOL

Simplex123 06-07-2010 03:07 PM

I like how the people in the video on the apple site sound like they are so fucking excited and amazed by video calling when its been out for years..

Vinny G 06-07-2010 03:13 PM

^^ Not to mention they use a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT standard from every other 3G, video call capable phone meaning no interoperability. Makes no sense at all... not that I care about video call in the first place but at least follow the standard if you're going to use it.

hal0g0dv2 06-07-2010 03:33 PM

this looks sick

jtanner_ 06-07-2010 03:44 PM

Just when I was considering giving up my iphone for bb... iPhone 4G here I come!
