^^ don't they have superior phones though? I mean the technology there is like a year more advanced. So I heard...
japan yes. the rest of asian not really. the phones they have we can now get here, the gap is no longer as big as before.
there are other phone in asian u can't get here but those are mostly fashion phones.
also those cultures worship trends, if you can't tell apple iphone is the biggest one right now. so its mostly about getting the latest trendiest thing before you frds does
That is true but it just seems that the phones they have are more advanced than the iphone. It is hard for us to get phones from Asia that is why we resort to what we can get.. the iphone.
our cellular provider have really step up their game compare to few years ago, so our selection is quite good and very comparable to ones in hk/taiwan. the ones you can't get are niche phones anyways, like sharp folder phones from japan and various other fashion phone rice out with multiple dancing LED.
And i think phone buyers even since the iphone have been leaning towards phone with great user interfence and personalization (iphone, android etc) rather than the old style of phone which the asians use to like to rock (OMFG hardware features but meh and very restrictive software) asian society ESPECIALLY the mainland culture really like to show how many feature they have instead of how well it works together. just take a look at any mainland chinese website, software and now cars. I think its a good sign that with all the extra selection they have in asia they choose to turn to the iphone. hopefully they can learn a thing or two about interfence design and end usability.
So the saying that asian phones are more advance isn't really applicable anymore, unless of course you are talking about japan. but japan is always in their own little universe when it come to tech.
when apple said that iphone changes everything they are not lying. It may not be have the best hardware or be the phone for every1 but it certainly changes everybody's perspective of how phones should be, software > hardware
what do i need to search? i cant find it with any keywords like case, iphone, bumper, free, program..
iphone 4 case program
apple should of put it up as a feature app but i guess they are hoping some ppl will get lose or couldn't find it or otherwise forget to request their free case

A couple of questions about the unlocked iPhone 4:
1. Anyone managed to put an iPad microsim card into an unlocked iPhone just for data? Tried a Roger's iPad microsim, even after changing APN it didn't work on iPhone 4.
2. Anyone tried other prepaid data microsim card in the unlocked iPhone 4?
3. Anywhere in lower mainland carrying those microsim card cutter/adapter? Yes, I know, lots of instructions online on how to cut, but may have to do a few thus wanted to save time.
4. What are some of the best pay as you go data providers out there?
Planning to use the iPhone 4 strictly as a data device hence the strange questions, thanks in advance.
i want to know where to get the sim cutter thing too.... there is one guy selling the service to cut sim and sim adapter but understandably he is not selling the cutter

hey guys,i have to resign my contract with fido this comming week. Do you guys think i should upgrade to an iphone 4g or is it better to just order a 3gs? Please any input would help.
Rogers put me on a list for 2 phones. I only wanted 16GB and the 10 or so people in front of me mostly marked down for 32GB (which rep said are harder to get).
So I'm confident I'll get my phones soon (and for $159, so no brainer).

Makes sense since you only pay an extra $110 and get double the storage Posted via RS Mobile

You can get the cutter here but prepare to wait about a month to receive it. It used to be $20 but is now $17
Maybe because they had 5mp camera phones when people here had Motorolla RAZRs?
We're not talking about 5 year old Motorola Razrs. We're talking about everything after that. How is a Japanese phone better than an Android, iPhone, or Windows Mobile? Or hell, even $99 Samsung or LG smartphones
^^
I think the old argument as to how Japanese phones are better than other phones were features such as high end ccd cameras, gps, huge displays, etc. However that has all changed, in my opinion the only thing that really separates Japanese phones from other phones is how they have integrated cellphones into their lives. Paying for transit, convenience stores, etc through your phone is what makes Japanese phones better.
Also personally I think Japanese phones look much better. For example I love flip phones, and don't mind having a long phone since to me it looks much better than say a huge slab of plastic with a button or three on the bottom.
Right I forgot about things like 1080p recording, waterproof, solar power, huge external screens with e-ink? In short they're the high end of the high end Feature phones.
