the only cons i see it: - its not free - iphone notification sucks |
i use whats app and think its pretty good. def a cooler looking and more functional app (send pic/vid/vcard/gps-coord) than bbm, i like how it scans your address book for contacts, no need to enter pins. there is a version for BB so you can chat with BB users, i havent tested this yet so i cant comment. my copy of whatsapp was free from a long time ago, now its a couple bucks. the push notifications seem okay with me, what didnt you like? the only issue i have with whatsapp is the lack of group chats like bbm, you can send a broadcast message but you can not create groups... :( |
also check out hello messenger, i just got it the other day and am currently testing it. this app goes the pin route like the BB. but instead of being hardware based the pin is randomly generated for each user. this app doesnt allow you to send vid/vcard/gps in chats but does support groups. it also has a "buzz" feature, just like the bbm "ping". theres a free ad supported version and a paid ad free version. there are also blackberry and android versions coming, hopefully you can chat across all platforms. facebook integration too, check it out. http://www.hellomessenger.com/ |
Why not use MSN? It's free You can chat with people no matter what platform they're on - phones, PC's, even XBOX There are plenty of apps to choose from. I hear the new official iphone one is great |
theres a lot of reports of fido stacking contracts as usual when people are doing early HUP to the new iphone 4. this conflicts with what was posted on twitter by rogers. so what is the deal with this stacking, are the contracts supposed to be stacked or not? i have 3 lines and would like to HUP all to the iPhone 4. two have the iPhone 3G and are up for early renewal in september 2010. the other line has the iPhone 3GS and is up for early renewal in august 2011. in my case if i upgrade to the iPhone 4 on all lines, which ones will have stacked contracts? |

iphone's biggest blackeye is the lack of decent messaging applications |

hi so what are you doing hahahahaha i'm at home i can type so fucking fast hahahahha very very annoying when your on a phone. the thing i don't like about is not really whatsapp's fault. the way iphone handles push notification just isn't very good. for example it can't display multiple notification |
i donno about msn, i havent used msn messenger in over five years. i text and email most of the time, sometimes use aim/gtalk through a jabber client. aim is also available for the iphone. the biggest drawback to using any instant messenger is trying you get your business contacts to use it, most people prefer the look/feel of a BBM like client, theres a sense of security and professionalism. also some people dont like to mix personal IM with business. i dont think msn does groups does it? with BBM you can create conferences (group chats by invite) and permanent groups where all members can chat and receive updates. |
Dropped my iPhone 4 this morning from about 2 feet onto concrete. Landed face down on the front screen and it cracked. I booked an appointment at the Genius Bar and they replaced my phone with a new one:thumbsup::thumbsup: The screen isn't nearly as strong as the 3G or 3GS imo |

http://modmyi.com/forums/t-mobile/72...-facetime.html So apparently facetime is causing text messages to be sent to that number 447786205094??? I called in to Bell just to check and sure enough I have 3 charges at 25cents each for international text messaging to that number... I did use facetime a few times too... anyone else here with the iphone 4 care to check? |
anybody knows where in richmond i can get cheap throwaway case for the ip4 yet? i was going to wait till i go back to hk in 2 weeks but my ring has already nick the antenna a little :( i need some protection asap |
hey guys, is this a common thing for the Cydia JB? After updating the PDF Loader update and other updates, there is a green line; almost like dead pixels on the top of the apple loading screen. is this normal? |

you will see it every restart. thats how you know you have done something to your idevice that apple doesn't approve of |
happens to the 3gs as well after jailbreak and carrier unlock. |

thanks, i just did some googling too and found out the same thing.. i guess most people with os4.0.1 are using cydia and installous for their JB usage? |
wow i miss the physical keyboard on the 9700. i may just move to the 9800 from the iphone4. glad i only had to wait about 20 minutes for this phone. if i waited hours like some people are posting I would have been so mad right now.... |

I can confirm this. But it only applies if u are using a unsupported carrier or plan? Few nite ago I cut up mg hk pccw sim card to put into the ip4 and immediately I got a pop up saying video calling will have international charge. Something of that effect. I ignore it and continue to pull the pccw sim in and out of the phone for testing. Check today on my pccw account and I just got charge a few bucks for SMS. So yea lesson is turn off your FaceTime before u put in sim not supporting FaceTime. Doesn't have any of that on fido though. I'm not sure if it only occurs on cellular provide that isn't compatible with iPhone or if ur sim card has a plan that does support it. I was using the pccw pay as u go but i know for sure pccw in hk carries the ip4 Posted via RS Mobile |
