i'm using a bell sim card on an unlocked iphone from the apple store. it shouldn't matter about the plan because facetime is used on wifi only.

thats what i though about wifi and facetime, but clearly there is also some criteria in regard to cellular provider side.

Winterboard is running great on ip4 :) finally got my homescreen setup the way i like.

This time around instead of having a gazillion themes unable in wb i ssh in and merge all the theme i use into 1. So now i only have 3 things enable in wb. making every single icon retina screen resolution made hell of a difference

I do i didn't screen capture my folders becuz as of now they are just default with some skin apps inside.

these two screen are just my most use i don't put them in folder so i don't have to search for them

I read bits and pieces about saving your SHSH blob onto cydia etc..

I just noticed when I go on cydia this message appears at the top:
"This device has SHSHs on file for iPhone OS/iOS: 4.0.1"

You pressed "make my life easier" when you opened Cydia so you did do something. It means if you want to restore your phone and not want the newest firmware 4.0.2, you point itunes to the server where your shsh is stored and you can restore with your current firmware 4.0.1.

Does this mean I don't need to use Umbrella or any program to save my SHSH blobs like I've read online? It's all done and I just need to make sure when I restore it I follow the proper instructions to restore to the desired firmware that supports jailbreaking?

I'm new to this whole iPhone + jailbreak thing, but as far as I'm aware, it's safer to do both Cydia and the umbrella thing... It doesn't take that much more effort to set up the shsh through umbrella anyways. There was something in the umbrella readme that suggested you should do both.

Can someone please correct me if I'm wrong?

for those with the new iphone 4, hows the reception? Do you usually lose bars while holding the death grip? Any dropped calls?

This is bs, i can't make or recieve any calls with Fido. But I can text and use my data just as fine. pfshhhhhhhh

reception goes down 2 bars usually with the death grip.
I tried it in a place where I had 1 bar only and the death grip failed to drop any more bars or drop my call.

Bring it back to the apple store. They will check it out and give you another one right away. My power button didn't work and they gaved me a new 32gb from a special box. The phones from the special box will be refurbished units in a few weeks so get it changed now.

Do you know If they have extras to exchange?

Not true. There is deathgrip. Just not so severe that you would completely lose signal nor will it drop calls
