Also for those who want the 32gb. Do you guys really need that much? I was totally fine with my 8gb iphone 2g.

I have 6 gigs left in my 32gb iphone4.

I put in a lot of music and videos that's why.
I guess apps too take up a lot of space because tomtom for ex is 1.5gigs alone

Is it possible to use someone else's SHSH blob to downgrade from 4.0.2 to 4.0.1?

No cause each one is unique to that device.

nope, SHSH blob is basically your phones ECID, it goes with the phone, so to answer your question..its NO

I just got the ipod touch 64g last week with my MBP Student deal and I have already filled it up to 45gb, I still got about 50+ CDs left to rip so I est when Im done it would be about 48g.. excluding any Vids, Big Apps, Photos, etc.

If you use it as a Phone only then yep, 8G is more than enough but I use it as my music warehouse when I switch between Office, Home, Parents Home, Cars. I was actually extremely disappointed that IP4 did not come in 64, well I guess they need it as one of the selling points/features in the IP4gs come June 2k11.

Some chap I emailed was willing to sell it for $950 for the 32. Was kinda tempted to bite but decided to wait.

HonestTea 08-26-2010 03:48 AM

Hmm does anyone know how long you can record with the 720 HD cam on the 16gb iPhone 4?

stuff99 08-26-2010 07:55 AM

Just had the phone for a day. Reception is noticeably worse...iPhone 3g had full signal strength at my cubicle before...iPhone 4 has -1 to 2 bars less at all times.

Psykopathik 08-26-2010 09:17 AM

"bars" are a poor indication of actual signal strength.

The bars drop significantly when I hold it at the phones 'weak spot' in areas of weak signal strength in the office...where the iPhone 3G dropped 2-3 in those areas.

In a more than thorough blog post, the iPhone Dev Team has explained why they don’t want to play cat and mouse with Apple when it comes to jailbreaking iOS 4.0.2 for iPhone and iPod touch or iOS 3.2.2 for iPad.

These two software updates have been recently rolled out by Apple in order to address that PDF exploit that, among other things, allowed the jailbreak of the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. In order to still be able to use JailbreakMe 2.0 you absolutely need to save your SHSH blobs for your device in order to always be able to downgrade to iOS 4.0.1 and thus perform the jailbreak.

Of course that doesn’t mean that if you have recently purchased an iPhone, iPod touch or iPad with iOS 4.0.2/3.2.2 on board you should be worried about not being able to jailbreak. iOS 4.1 is just around the corner. In fact it might be released as soon as September 1. Once iOS 4.1 is out in the wild we can only expect the iPhone Dev Team to tear it apart and look for jailbreak and unlock holes.

That’s probably the best road to take for the iPhone Dev Team, as there’s no point looking to release a jailbreak for a temporary firmware version. iOS 4.0.2/3.2.2 was just a quick fix meant to solve that security issue, whereas iOS 4.1 will have plenty of new features and thus be the real firmware to break. And the new firmware is coming soon as it has to enable FaceTime via email on the iPod touch 4G and multitasking for the iPad.

Wouldn't be surprised if it is. I got charged LD when I called from Cultus Lake to Burnaby.

to my knowledge, data is nation wide so as long as you are in Canada data will not be charged as roaming
