what are you guys who are JB'ed thinking of it? is it worth it?

the only time i ever JB my iphone was right when i got my 3G, i found it slowed down and the only things i really used were the visual customizations, is there enough there that would keep me interested if i JB again?

also to refresh my memory, if you are JB, then update through itunes, does it just delete your JB and retain all your stuff through the new firmware?

if you jb and update then everything is gone.

For jailbreaking, think of all the things you wish apple had on this phone, even the simplest thing. With jailbreaking most of the things you thought of are now possible.

My must-have-jailbreak-app is SBSettings. You swipe the top status bar and this menu drops down where you can toggle things on and off such as bluetooth, wifi, 3g, etc.

A good to download especially for Skype users who want to use their bluetooh headsets is BluetoothMono. It sends all audio output and input to your headset which means you can now talk on Skype with your headset.

I jailbreak to put a theme in and for sbsettings. Free apps is ok too but I don't use many of them but that's the main reason many people jailbreak

I'm currently on 4.0.2 and I know that the devs aren't gonna jailbreak this firmware. Would u guys recommend that I go and update to 4.1?

Fido app sucks, 9/10 times I will get the "Unable to Authenticate". When it worked today, it said I had 1GB of data instead of 100mb

its just a game of cat and mouse, the iphone dev team will eventually release a jailbreak for 4.0.2, it just takes awhile for them to find an exploit

Looked into JB, not gonna bother. There's nothing I need my iPhone to do that JBing is going to give me.

the apps that i actually want and find useful are already on the app store, didnt really mind paying $2 or $3 for some of them

i thought cydia would have some of the games available on the app store for free

so if you JB your phone you get all your aps for free? do you lose them if you update it or they will be there for good?

Seriously, why JB for some free apps? Is the $0.99 to $2.99 for most apps too much to spend? It's not like you're loading up Photoshop or some other expensive software for free.

What I like best about the App Store is that I can buy an app once and use it on all 4 of my iPhones (mine, my wife's and both kids). 4 users for one price. How cheap is that?

There will be no jailbreak for 4.0.2. They said long ago that there is no point of wasting their time on a version that is only temporary and it's only change from 4.0.1 is fixing the exploit.

They jumped directly to 4.1 which should be out tomorrow or soon.

how do you guys jailbreak? do you guys do the online jailbreak using wifi?

Did you install that other tweak that is recommended/needed? Something about hiding the lock clock, can't remember the name. Or are you talking about it displaying 88:88 and having a slight lag before all the words and numbers show up?

I use this program called LogMeIn which allows you to access your desktop computer on the iphone. I think it's 49.99?

It's out for some iDevices but not yet for the iPhone4

Anyone notice that when you switch to video mode, it zooms in a tad automatically? And if you double tap the screen it'll zoom back out but have black bars above and below.

This was quite misleading for me when I was recording a super sf4 match of mine off the tv. I had it perfectly lined up so the edge of the video meets the edge of the TV. But when I viewed the recording, it was actually wider than I thought.

^ Probably to fit the proper aspect ratios for widescreen tv's?

Ya I know. They should make it wide angle by default so it's not misleading when people record.

I have a 3GS iphone running 3.1.3 jailbroken not planning on upgrading and re-jailbreaking, got way too many games and stuff don't wanna have to download install and lose all my records, etc....

Yes if it is already jailbroken on a 4.X firmware. This jailbreak is very picky on what it will jailbreak.
