^ I just read all 3 pages of that thread, thanks... but fck it seems more complicated than before, you're totally right about it being picky.

I've jailbroken my iPhone few times before and it was simple click here and there, game over with BlackRain.
now I'm reading through that thread and guys are talking it'll do this, but not if you have that, but if you already have that then it won't work if you have this.

because basically I'm working with a virgin ipod touch 2G, never been hacked, jailbroken modified in any way. All I did was update the software through iTunes to 4.1 and now I just wanna jailbreak it.

so I assume a legit 4.1 hack will be coming out soon that will hack any device running 4.1 no matter what they got??

Vinny G 09-23-2010 09:41 AM

you've jailbroken before and you still don't know not to update until you know you can jailbreak the next firmware?

joquio 09-23-2010 09:43 AM

lol yeah, it looks like he doesn't even know what he's doing or what he shouldn't be doing.

^
well
through installous I downloaded both the TomTom US&Canada map and the Navicon (i think that's the name) GPS for US and Canada. It would've been $49.99 each otherwise.

Good thing I was able to use it without paying, because in the end they both suck. POIs aren't up to date despite being the latest version, and generally it's hard to scroll through the map trying to find a street as compared to scrolling through with google maps.

I had much better luck with using wifi to load up the LA map area I needed and then just use it as a GPS.

If I had purchased the above GPS programs I would've been out $49.99 (only reason I got both was because it was "free") and wouldn't be able to get a refund.

Same, I'm constantly checking all of the jailbreaking sites.

has anyone noticed that the bottom of the screen isnt very responsive? i've had my iphone 4 for about 2 weeks, and whenever i'm typing something, the space bar needs to be pressed harder/longer than the rest of the keys...

Mine seems to be fine. Anyways, I updated to 4.1 and the proximity sensor seems to be fixed, no matter accidental touches with my cheek.

That's a common excuse given by people who pirate software: "I'm just installing it to try it out without buying. If it's no good then I didn't waste my money."

or

"Why should I pay $200 for a CD with some software on it that only cost $1 to make?"

"I never would have bought that program in the first place, so they didn't lose any money by me downloading their software".

Here's a tip: If you want to buy something, Google a few reviews first. With something that expensive/popular, there should be tons of reviews to help you decide if something is good or not.

Why would I watch a movie online? I have a boatload of channels from Shaw with pretty much everything I could want to watch. Any movie I like I'll buy on Blu-ray and add it to my collection.

I have well over 1,000 CD's (and just as many LP's) that I've bought over the years. Any new music that comes out I'll either buy on iTunes or if it's really good I'll pop for the CD.

I'm not stupid I know the fckin process, I updated to 4.1 because I assumed the hackers would have a full blown jailbreak for 4.1 within a week as has been the case with most of the other software versions.

What I didnt know is that now apparently the jailbreaking process seems to be getting more complicated. Jailbreaking my 3.1.3 iPhone 3GS was a breeze using the BlackRa1n exploit.
I'm just hoping that the 4.1 crack will be as simple to use, but from everything I'm reading so far it's more complicated, and I don't know what that says about the hackers and their efforts, like... is Apple getting better at their job or are the hackers slacking ?

I don't know this field enough to have an opinion on it, but I definitely know the basics.

Believe me, I DID read the reviews. There are lots of reviews on the app store as well and guess what almost every review said it was great.
Aside from what I mentioned above, one major gripe is that there's no easy to way to just scroll through the map or add a POI to your destination unless you're in the "navigate to" section. If you are in the "browse map" even if you search up a POI you can't even add it to your destination. Very unintuitive and a lot of pain.
I think what I'm trying to get across is, I'd much rather be able to try out the product instead of relying on reviews only.

enough about that, point is, despite what the reviews said, I still found google maps with WIFI WAY more useful and easier to use.

For CDs I do buy them if I like the artist and want to support them. Otherwise I just download them.

I don't think it's bonus. It just states that you can go all the way to 1gb, but really you only have 100mb. You can try going over 100mb to see if you get charged extra.

Don't do it.

My Rogers tracking app said I had 2650 texts, but I only had 2500 included in my plan. I went over, and took $20 in extra texting charges >_>

lol thanks. Ouch! I'm thinking about calling Fido tomorrow to ask about their "alert messaging program". Wondering if I will get a text before I hit the 100 MB mark or the 1GB

Your phone can store way more contacts than your sim can handle and can also store so much other info that can't be stored on a sim... Profile pic, custom ringtones, custom phone labels, custom email labels, multiple addresses and email addresses, nickname, notes, group, etc.

If you sync your iPhone with iTunes, something that should be don't regularly, then it will backup all of this info. The backup can be transferred to another iPhone. Also you can set iTunes to sync your contacts, calendar, bookmarks with your computer, pc or Mac, outlook or apple address book and iCal. Give it a try...

ever thought about moving the simcard onto another phone so that all the numbers will be on that phone as well? ( like between blackberry/iphones)

if you were switching between 2 phones daily

with that being said...

can you store phone numbers on the microsim?

if so anyone know how many?

So if the iphone 4 free case program is only valid for phones bought before Sept. 30th, does that mean all iphone 4's sold after that date have the antenna "issue" corrected?
