I believe a "tethered" jailbroken phone means you need to connect the phone to a computer everytime you boot up your phone. So if you need to restart it or your battery died, you need to have it connected to a computer to boot it back up.

I just got my old White 32GB 3GS replaced for free under warranty, it was jailbroken and unlocked and apple didnt care/notice, They just wanted to check the sim card tray to confirm the serial number having warranty. All i did was complain about the cosmetic cracks that started to form on the back cover near the connector area and screws. took about 5 mins to get a new one from time of complaint. luckily I just backup my device before i arrived. The good and the bad... Good, 4.0.2, Good, MB Old bootrom, Bad, doesnt have any SHSH settings saved prior, so no jailbreak for me... Good, connected to F0recast, and it said it is unlockable once a new jailbreak comes out.:)

Not to worried thou, Already got my iPhone 4 going, and this sunday will make it sweeter.

^ for warranty purposes as long as you can system restore theres no need to worry about apple finding the jailbreak or not... just in case

my battery life seems to be getting worse as well. do apple stores still provide replacements for the deffective phones or do I have to send mine to rogers?

My battery is really shitty too and my phone's a week old. How do I figure out if it's actually defective or not?

when i first got my phone the battery lasted me 2 days no problem. i haven't changed any settings or the way i use it, i have to charge my phone every night now

^^ same here. With 3g on. push on. fetch 30mins. less than 1hr talk time. minimal gaming/playing with apps. ~25-30txt messages.
I have to charge it every night with roughly 40-50% battery life remaining. usually less than 50% though.

Geohot seems to have timed it to perfection. 10/11/10 (October 11), the ETA of limera1n is exactly one year after blackra1n was released to public for iOS 3.1.2.

StealthBravo: The significance of 10/11/10 is that its the one year anniversary of blackra1n’s release. 10/11/10 is the targeted release of limera1n

So what do you guys think about this? Should Geohot save his exploit for the next-generation iOS devices? Or should he just go ahead and release Limera1n on 10/11/10, that is right after Chronic Dev Team has released GreenPois0n? Let us know what you think about this in the comments section below.

Dayumm! so much drama! I think he should save it and release it when greenpois0n's jb is patched. AND he should develop an unlock for the iPhone 4!

just picked one up at Pacific Center - no line, no nothing, I just went up and asked (out of curiosity at first... never actually wanted one)

^ Just called and they said they are completely sold out. Told them my friend just picked one up 10minutes ago and hes like "He probably lined up this morning and had one allocated to him" lol...

From what I read I believe greenpois0n jb cannot be patched. The only down side to it is that the Shatter exploit used in the greenpois0n jb is tethered but they found a workaround to make it so it's un-tethered. However, this workaround can be patched by Apple but won't affect the actual jb.

I'm not sure how limera1n works but if it can bypass the whole tethering problem forever then by all means release it! I doubt I'll be getting an iphone 5 anyways :P.

Lol, I called in about an ipod touch when the new ones were released. the person on the phone is like, err we had 2 this morning and 1 is definitely sold. So I asked if she could check stock or set it aside for me. And she said no to both. She also told me not to come down, because it would be gone for sure because they were selling like "hot cakes". I went down anyways, since I was headed else where around the area, went to the counter, asked for one. The guy at the counter turns around, opens up drawer and takes 1 out of it from the almost filled drawer. Like wtff, lol.

anyone have major problems with the phone restarting by itself?
random times sometimes running as many as 30 programs in background, sometimes only one.

as well, at times it goes into a loop of apple logo with the waiting cursor, then back to normal till i restart it

phone has never been jailbroken, all updates up to date
